Summer has started in Wallace Park.
One of the best parks for kids I've been to. Small but lots of fun.
Make the Entertainment At the Bandstand last longer so we all can enjoy the Fun As Sunday one Hour is Too Quick and is Over before it has Beganwhen the Crowds Arrive They Are Told the Show is Over
Love Wallace Park. Something for everyone. Peaceful morning walk. Busy weekends with lots of children and sports. Active evenings with runners, bootcamps, tennis, walkers and of course . Enjoying this fantastic park almost everyday.
Its very well keep always clean and tidy something for all ages and abilities. For me i enjoy jogging the plants and childrens play area they also provide po bags for dogs thumbs up to all who keep it in this order
I have had the priviledge, and pleasure, to walk, and talk to many, friend's, inthis beautiful park for many year's. Firt of all, i would like to pay credit to the local council employees, on maintaining the park to such a high standard, being approachable, friendly, and yet getting on with there respective and varied job's. The wide open space, laid out with a super, children's play area, these children are our future, just to watch, and see the enjoyment and excitement, in there little mind's and heart's, is a great encouragement for our future generation's. The beautiful, and well laid out flower bed's are a delight, an inspiration, of how nature is working, on our door step. The walkway's, in particular, the outer walk, circumference, approx, one mile, is much loved, and greatly used by so many, for example, dog walker's, other's walking for exercise purpose's, and, we now have a running club, or club's, including, football and rugby, and other's. We have, of course, had the priviledge and pleasure of one of N Ireland's very well known Cricket club's, Lisburn Cricket Club, who have superb facilities in the very centre of this beautiul park, and providing great enterainment, most weekend's during the summer month's. The park has also provided, superb, facilities, tennis playing facilities, including, beginner's courses, supervised by experienced tennis player's, and off course games and matches for the more experienced player's. In addition, the park provides, pitches, for football, which are greatly used and much loved, by so many, and are maintained, in excellent condition, by the very experienced and proud maintenance team, in spite, of, many inclement day's and week's during the playing season. The facilities in general, are absolutely excellent, wonderful walk's, doggey bag's for dog walker's, the wild flower bed's, the very beautiful floral arrangement's, the superb children's facilities, which are managed at all time's, the well prepared and managed sporting facilities, and the new lighting facilities, makes, "The Wallace Park", with its abundance of wild life, an, excellent, relaxing and superior place to visit. Do enjoy, and, it is all, free, !!! Just walk in thru the gate, and enjoy the very wonderfull ambience.
I grew up close to the park, spent lots of summers there as a kid, great to see it now all spruced up :) Anyone remember the old play park before health and safety kicked in ? lol
I go walking with my neice every weekend just love it people out walking too are very friendly beautiful park
Great Park, very well kept, lovely to take the kids or go for a run round, great parkrun on Saturday mornings too! Could easily spend hours here!
Go play area for the children love Wallace park was brought up near the park . Such a difference since then living in Glasgow . Always come to the park every time I'm home xx
Found a hat and an umbrella which I kept
Class park and great place for walks, the playpark area and sand was a delight with my daughter Maisey, she didn't want to leave!
Brilliant place to take the kids in summer or a dry day
Feeding the ducks is a challenge with the cheeky seagulls bomb diving but the kids love it
An absolute pleasure to the eye! Gorgeous flowers kids loved the amazing play park and didn't want to leave. Very well maintained and will definitely be making regular visits!
A lovely park for walking and sports and for children
1st visit today and my 6 year old says "it's the best park i have ever seen". Very impressed!
1 of the best parks with a big park fulled with different types of equipment to suit all ages, large fields for kids to run play football or have picnics, a pond with ducks and my we man's favourite the trains that pass just outside the park have had some lovely days with my children in this park and I'm sure many more this year! only down side is on a good day parking is had to come by! could do with larger car park
We love Wallace. Great play area and beautifully kept. Any chance of an area being fenced as a dog run? I have kids who are nervous with other dogs off-lead and a dog who'd love to run except I won't allow her off the lead out of responsibility towards other people's children. Lots of dogs running freely around Wallace and maybe people would tend to use leads more if there was an allocated run for them?
A fab park
Fantastic park and always enjoy doing my walks and runs too, plus I take part every saturday morning at the wallace parkrun which I always enjoy too, brilliant park and would recommend it to anyone.
Best park in Northern Ireland probably..if anyone knows a better kids play area please tell me...1 big major problem though is lack of toilet facilities..Total disgrace how 2 toilets can accommodate up to 100 people is beyond me..people have to stand and queue for ages..My child was near in tears having to "hold on" to go to the toilet..Get your finger out Lusburn city council and build a bigger toilet facility please.
