Wee Cottage Cafe And Gift Shop

It was closing for the winter, but the staff were lovely and so we're the cakes and hot drinks

I had a strange experience there. There is like one single sign of the café that says toilets are for customers, which is fine. Thinking there must be toilets, and that customers can use them (see : sign that literally says exactly that) I bought some coffee in order to be able to use said toilets.

When I politely asked the staff if I could use the toilets (the ones the sign literally nailed to their shop referred to) they gave me an empty stare. I had to ask several times as they were mumbling between themselves and smiling creepily à la wicker man type of deal.

The best answer I got was a woman telling the dude at the counter "tell the girl the toilets are at the castle" and many empty stares.

The thing is that the castle charges 5 pounds to enter and use the toilets which is why I bought the coffee to be allowed to pee like a law abiding citizen.

I don't know how their food is but their toilet sign is a web of lies unleashed on unsuspecting tourists who just want to pee.

Great place for a Snack , friendly staff and good food,, portions of cake are huge. Lovely old style with plenty of bric a brack and paraphernalia. well worth the visit.
