Recently purchased a property through them...... a very difficult purchase that without Charlotte would never have happened . love being told I can get a van from the Newport site after it was put up on Gumtree. Phoned to get it was there and i could take it, was told yes. Paid £20 for a taxi to get down and my dad used his lunch hour to come check it out with me. To then be told that it has to go to auction, even thou I was told I could but it for the asking price they put on Gumtree for! JOKE!

Worst online auction ever dont bother waste of time you win items they go in won box and some go in pending won box but you actually win nothing because they can delete everything in won box and pending box. Ok yeah thanks I will have my deposit back.

Went to the auction on Thurs 30th Nov. Was required to leave a £500 which I did via debit card. Queued for 25 mins at the end to get my deposit back - only 3 staff members manning the desks despite the size of the queue - got deposit refunded straight to card yet on Sat 2nd Dec, card still not credited. This should be instantaneous. There was no problem taking the money out of course, but putting it back in seems to be a different issue!

Still waiting for this VAT refund, for the VAT you shouldnt have charged me in the first place. Sending a GBP cheque is not acceptable, if someone is going to loose money it should be you. You elected to charge the VAT, when you were not required to. I deleted my previous comment in good faith after you contacted me an assured me that you would improve your system going forward, and make your hidden fees transparent. So far i have seen no changes, received no refund, and now im just getting shirty emails trying to tell me that refunding money taken from my debit card by cheque is fine - not that ive received a cheque mind - just your (questionable) word that you posted one.

Registered to bid online for an offsite auction. Paid for the process to find the online site crashing, not taking my bids and not updating anywhere close to real time. I called the office to be given a mobile number of an operative in the offsite premises. Called her repeatedly but no answer, then called Lisa back to be told there was nothing they could do as they were in Dublin and not on site I asked if they could sort something out as it is their company and Lisa replied "it's not my company, I just work here" Customer service at an all time low in my experience, I buy a lot of stock in online auctions and this is certainly the worst I have had the cost of witnessing.

Put a car through auctions. Got told an entry price on the phone so took Car to local auction. Didn’t get any proof of leaving Car which I though was bad. After auction I wasn’t informed that the car had sold I had to phone and ask days later. It took 2 weeks to get the cheque and when it came they had charged me more than what I was told over the phone. I would never had put it in if I was told the price charged. Totally unprofessional and won’t be using again

Never ever in my life buy another car from them just sit back and enjoy the ghost bids it not right dick turpin wore a mask to rob folk

Lots of ghost bidding goes on in Newcastle. Fees are a disgrace and cars abused and thrashed.

Entered a BMW a asked them to ring highest bid, after watching online it went for £3000. Then got a phone call saying it went for £2500, someone must of got mates rates.

I'm a very experienced auction buyer and never in business career have I came across such dishonesty as with Wilson's between selling vehicles with absolutely no mention on it been a none runner and parts taken off and to be charged 25 percent commission on government listings and waiting a good few weeks to get back money due for vehicles



Stay well away if you can't attend your better off going to the auction and inspecting

I won 2 Sachtler tripods on an online auction for around £1600. I flew in from London to Dublin to pick these up, as I got them for such a good price.

Upon arrival I was then told the tripods could not be found, and that they must have been given to the wrong person.



I was issued a refund with no compensation for wasting a day of my time and a £350 return flight.

It seems very unfair that their lack of professionalism cost me money.

I paid for a service, and in return got nothing.



Completely unprofessional and I would not recommend to anyone. Absolute disgrace. I am going to actively encourage people to shop elsewhere.



P.s. It is funny how they were able to take £1600 from me within 30 seconds, but to refund me the money will take several days.

I used to shop in Wilsons in Belfast and Dublin regularly and they have some decent stuff sometimes but all the hidden costs and add ons and the absolute terrible service they provide if something goes wrong they don't deserve any customers the amount of people who i have spoken to who used to shop with them but don't any more due to service issue is crazy. It costs much more to get new customers than to take care of your old ones but since its the same in all their branches its obviously their business model. Horrible, Terrible, rip off fees and if you are thinking about shopping or selling through them Please don't do it.

I put a bid on a watch for my wife and I had to leave a deposit of £200 . They said to me it was on unreserved price. Was told best price would get it. looked it up on eBay to get the price what it should be worth. Never contacted me so I rang two days later. Told me they were looking three times the amount what it's worth on eBay. Then told had put the best price down but it didn't reached the guide price. Why tell me something completely different when bidding. The place is a joke.

Ghost bidding in Newport depot.auctioneer got caught out in front of everyone saying there was a 4k bid for a car and then when someone pointed out the damage on the car all of a sudden the bid as taken away and bids starting at 3k... this was the same case when it was Newport auctions !!!!!! Scammers of people's hard earned cash and they sell cars at retail price that need engine work etc.. Joe public would defiantly be ripped off.. not fair!!!! Keep clear of these robbing b******s!!!!

Bought a van last Thursday evening paid the 500 deposit witch is bidding card.. Van was sold hammer dropped at 800 gave bidding number, and then went up a few days later to pay for the rest of the van.. The man had my number crossed out and one of there own had the van bought, after me buying the van. never ever go here if you get a bargain and hammer drops, take your number and your money and then they Dont even give you the product.. I go to loads of auctions and your better of going to muillingar Merlin's or Cavan no problems with them ever KEEP AWAY FROM Wilson's
