We came to your family fun day today and had a great day out. There was loads of free or reasonably priced entertainment for children, the 10 yr old daughter of my friend had a great time all afternoon, the racing was competitive and the selection of food and drink was great. And you managed to sort out some sunshine too! A great day out, thank you!

User

We attended the gungho 2016 race and had a great time.

Plenty of food stalls and an ice-cream van in case we got hungry. Plenty of benches to have a seat on across from the course.

The MC was welcoming and had lots of energy but was very informative when it came to safety precautions for doing the race in the rain; the warm up exercises were a great idea too. I'm also glad they let those of us not running know where to move to see the runners during the race.

Most importantly the course was challenging but fun and very well planned out. Lots of effort was clearly put in.

We will all definitely go again next year as runners (or support from the sidelines).

User

See you've had some poor reviews lately but we have been twice now for your summer evening meetings & had a lovely time. Good bar service, nice hot food, pretty parade ring, close to the action, cosy & friendly. Would come more often if we lived nearer but will definitely come again!

User

Easy access to the horses and racing and plenty of shelter from the rain, it poured later in the day I was there. It was my elder daughter's hen party so we lunched at a riverside restaurant then took the boat to the racecourse, it was a lovely sunny day at this point and going by boat just made it more special. However two criticisms, not enough ladies' toilet facilities, a common problem but the queues were very long meaning missing some races. Also we were being collected by a mini cab at the end of the day and we had to wait in the rain while he worked his way up a long line of traffic. He told us that the stewards hadn't wanted to let him in. The alternative would have been a long walk for us in the rain and wearing heels. There may have been an easier collection point but it was our one and only time there and we had no way of knowing. A rather dismal and disappointing end to what had been a glorious day,

User

Amazing day at the races today with the family as a free entry race event and we had a few wins, good food and the weather was really sunny!

User

Great evening last night with the ghostbusters theme, great show and atmosphere. Only down side was funfair, with two young child I donā€™t want to pay Ā£15 each for a wristband for the two rides they would go on. Could there not be a ticket scheme in place for next year for the rides they would use!?

User

Usual poor service at the bars...not enough staff, not enough staff supervision, same old story on the busy days of the year.

Invest in more staff...and you'll reap the benefits.

User

The hospitality in The Owners and Trainers is not the best . Some of the food establishments serve a poor excuse for food . Windsor is a lovely racecourse but the owners need to up their game . A day at the races should be an enjoyable experience, but the facility's need to be improved, for this to happen. The owners treat visitors as a captive audience and no effort is put in , to make it an enjoyable experience. And as a racehorse owner the price money is pretty poor as well .

User

Great night but their management of car parking is appalling. Happy to take Ā£8 to park your car, which we were happy to pay but absolutely no control or management to get cars out of the venue.been sat trying to get into go the car park for 40 minutes & have hardly moved! Sadly makes Windsor one of many venues who are happy to take your money then appear not to have any care afterwards! An established venue should surely have better controls in place !

User

Fireworks were brilliant as always , however this year there was hardly anything there to see and do . The funfair was extremely over priced ! Would definitely have to think about whether I would go again or not next year .Last year was a thousand times better !

User

We came for the fireworks and meal. Fireworks were fantastic but the event has been let down by catering staff, lack of ā€˜VIPā€™ hospitality and the exit to leave the fields is appalling. We have been sitting in the car now for 45 minutes and havenā€™t moved. My fiancĆ© asked the steward what the problem was and she said she has asked her supervisor to come down and he apparently refused. As part of the meal option we received parking tickets for three cars, which we generally assumed this would mean that other customers would have to pay for the parking. We would come again but as a last option. Also my fiancĆ© is dairy intolerant, he raised with the staff when booking and ā€˜made a noteā€™ of this. However, when his meal arrived he received a piece of chicken with potatoes and his pudding was fruit. I understand there was a lot of customers and food however we found this very poor

User

Had a great night at the Irish night this week but I remembered why we stopped coming last year.

You used to have big screens on the lawn next to the big bar so that family's or people needing to sit down could watch the races whilst eating or drinking rather than going through to the stand .

And no Sauvignon wine by the bottle only Pinot or warm prosecco I walked around all the bars trying to get a decent wine šŸ™ˆOnly to end up with a bottle of warm prosecco that hasn't been chilled !šŸ¾šŸ˜³Ā£35 a bit pricey aswell!

Hope you can improve so we can enjoy Windsor again !

User

Your ladies toilet facilities are a disgrace! In the world of gender equality why are there still 20 minute queues for ladies loos and none for the men AND a guard standing guard for women not to allowed to go in!!!

User

Your direct mail to me today has prompted me to contact you. Last year I booked a special family day out to celebrate my mother's birthday in June. I have been to Windsor Racecourse on many occasions. I have used your course for various corporate hospitality events and family/friend occasions over the last 9+ years and until last year every experience in the Castle Restaurant (and the marquee options) were very good, although Iā€™d not go so far to say any were excellent.

Last year however, I was too busy with work to contact to you and explain what a hideous experience it was in June last year. Firstly, your staff did not know what beer you served (or any other type of drinks for that matter), the bread served before dinner could break one's teeth. It took over half an hour to get served our first round of drinks (two of us had the shell fish and champagne platterā€¦the champagne arrived around 30 minutes after the platter). Then it was about the same amount of time thereafter for each drink request and the place was practically empty and as such had absolutely no atmosphere. Your staff said they had only been employed for a few days prior and had no clue what they were doing. The experience was SO BAD that after firstly complaining we actually couldnā€™t stop laughing at how appalling bad it could be for the price you charge. It was almost like the ultimate experience in paying for terribly bad service and awful food just for a laugh or some sort of sadistic punishment. In addition, the Castle Restaurant, while previously offering a good service, acceptable food has needed a re-vamp ever since Iā€™ve been there. Youā€™d get better dĆ©cor in a cheap high street chain restaurant. Basically, I will never book the Castle Restaurant or any corporate hospitality at Windsor EVER AGAIN and my recommendation is that no one else does either unless things change drastically!

User

This place has gone down hill, used to be a premium course to visit and enjoy a great nights racing with decent food and drink. Ladies night was atrocious! Even the Best dressed Lady competition was a cock up

User

NOT CHILD FRIENDLY! Fireworks were amazing but my children left feeling sad they didnt go on a ride as you couldnt pay for rides individually and had to fork out for expensive wristbands even though there were only 2 rides they would go on! Couldnt see the oopah loompahs and no candy or chocolate on sale which to me is a no brainer for a charlie and the chocolate factory theme! Never again, will watch fromoutside and avoid the car park chaos.

User

My first visit to windsor. Booked for gentleman's day with the promise of real ales and boys toys. The only attraction (so to speak) was a hostess handing out union jack flags........very poor performance of not delivering what was promised. We didn't even receive an email saying the day had changed. Very poor selection at the bars. If you are not a cider or wine drinker. Found a pimms bar, thought the day not so bad. The added fruit was orange lemon and limes. A respectable establishment can't even serve a British drink correctly. Was going to book for Boyzone. That has now changed. Very disappointing.

User

I have been a member of Windsor Racecourse for many years now and was looking forward to an enjoyable season, but!!! I have never been so disappointed in my life. They have moved Member who pay a substantial fee, from the marquee that it now the champaign Bar open to all, to the back end of beyond. It is a tiny bar that looks like you are walking into a bookies, no windows, you cant see a horse in site. No Tote or TV with the odds. We could not even buy our friends who are owners, we had to sit outside, fortunately it was not raining! I donā€™t know what they are playing at but I expect a lot of members will be complaining after this experience.

User

Great fireworks display, however the carpark chaos leaves a lot to de desired , still in the carpark over an hour and half later with a grumpy 10 month old baby and 8 year old and not a steward in sight controlling the situation! ā€” ļæ¼feeling annoyed.

We will all definitely go again next year as runners (or support from the sidelines).

Your ladies toilet facilities are a disgrace! In the world of gender equality why are there still 20 minute queues for ladies loos and none for the men AND a guard standing guard for women not to allowed to go in!!!

User
