Happy joint 70th birthday to Olive and Tom 🎉🎉🎉
When Rachel contacted me to make a joint birthday cake for her Mum and Dad, she knew exactly what she wanted on the cake. She gave me the brief and I drew a quick sketch before turning it into a reality. Olive's cake was vanilla with lemon curd and lemon buttercream and included her love of crochet, flowers and her time as a nurse. Tom's cake was vanilla with a salted caramel buttercream and features the family red tractor, cycli...ng and an Ulsterbus who he used to work for.

Just thought I'd share how I made the digger for Logan's cake yesterday.
•I used rice krispie mix to create the shape, this makes it more sturdier and lighter than making it all from fondant icing.
•I then covered in a layer of white fondant to cover the bumps from the rkt and then covered in the yellow and blue @renshawbaking rtr fondant.
... •I made the tyres from round cutters and added the tread and wheel details. I cut out the parts for the bucket to assemble later.
•I start to assemble adding the tyres, wheel arches, mirrors, lights, roof and pipe.
•I then used edible glue to stick the bucket parts together.
•When all parts are dry, I attach the bucket to the digger and place on top of the cake. Add some fondant rocks and the cake is complete 😊
