10 Round Challenge Description

On 21 June 2017, I will attempt to play 10 rounds of golf in one day at Strathaven Golf Club in Central Scotland to raise money for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Each round I'll be accompanied by 2 or 3 friends, including 4 PGA Professional Golfers and a former Ladies European Tour Professional.

10 Rounds may not sound like much to a non-golfer; however, it'll mean walking over 60 miles (that's more than a double marathon) and hitting around 750 - 800 shots all while carrying a golf bag weighing in at around 12kg (almost 2 stone).

A normal round of golf takes about 4 hours but, in order to complete the challenge in the available light, I'll need to start at first light (around 3am) and average no more than 1 hour 48 minutes per round (with no breaks) in order to ensure I finish before the light runs out (around 10pm)! !

There's no denying it's going to be tough but the hospital's children and young people have far longer and harder battles to face.
