100% Project

About 100% Project

The 100% Project is a community engagement project which aims to start conversations about death, dying and bereavement in a life-affirming way.

100% Project Description

The 100% Project is run by Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). The project was launched in March 2013 by engaging CHAS staff and social media followers in a series of conversations; by voting for Scotland’s favourite Tearjerker film (shown at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh), inviting people to write on an a "Before I Die" wall, and sharing stories of death, dying and bereavement through a blog.

The 100% Project aims to:

Promote positive attitudes to death, dying and bereavement.

Start to tackle the silence and isolation experienced in relation to death, dying and bereavement.

Raise awareness of the issues amongst those involved with CHAS, including service users, our teams and the public; and develop people’s skills and confidence in this area.

Start conversations.

Promote community involvement and understanding of issues relating to life-shortening conditions.

Be creative and imaginative in its approach but at all times sensitive and appropriate.

CHAS has a responsibility to play a part in helping to challenge societal views on these issues in the hope that this will make communication with and for families that little bit easier.
