Tonight at #Team1145 cadets took part in a range of activities.
The cadets who took part in module one of the aviation training done aircraft recognition. They looked at the differences between similar aircraft and different aspects of the aircraft. They looked at both military and civilian aircraft.
The cadets who were doing leadership went through some PowerPoints of the general principles of leadership and what SMEAC stands for as well as covering what makes a good leader....
All cadets had a good night!

Over the weekend we had two cadets who went on an Activity First Aid Course (AFA) at 2466 Squadron Air Cadets - Loanhead. Corporals John Neville and Robin Kelman were both successfully able to achieve their qualifications and badges after many hours, two long days of study and practice as well as learning new skills in the area of First Aid.

Yesterday at #Team1145 cadets participated in a variety of activities involving STEM and shooting.
Those who took part in shooting had their first three positional competition shoot and other cadets were prepared for tomorrow nights two position competition shoot. Also, congratulations to Cdt Galloway on achieving his advanced marksmanship badge!
The cadets who partook in STEM activities had to work effectively in teams to prepare an evacuation mission on a remote island tha...t is being suffered from an earthquake and spreading lava. Cadets had to plan the operation from choosing planes, helicopters, staff, equipment and other essentials like the amount of time and speed that the RAF can travel. This was successfully achieved using communication and teamwork skills!

We were very grateful to receive two lovely thank you notes from two of the wonderful charities we have had the pleasure of working with in 2020.
We take pride in our charity work and community spirit and we hope to continue our involvement with not only these charities but more throughout the year.

Yesterday at #Team1145 different groups of cadets participated in a couple of activities which were taking place.
The majority of cadets took part in radio communications with Sgt Pritchard. They had a refresher of voice procedures on the radio then used these skills to play battleships with the radios and learn how to effectively communicate under pressure and develop their team work skills.
The cadets who are beginning their aviation module took part in both flight simulati...on training and aircraft recognition along with learning the fundamental physics behind an aircraft.

Tonight at #Team1145 cadets participated in both shooting and drill. With those participating in drill they firstly underwent a formal uniform inspection and then brushed up on the fundamental points of drill.
Members of the squadrons 2 and 3 positional shooting teams took part in further training sessions tonight prior to their round one competitive shoot next week.
Cadets showed great improvement across all positions and are demonstrating their marksmanship principles well....
All had fun tonight!

Tonight #Team1145 got involved in some First Aid training and training scenarios. This included having a knife lodged into an arm and another was having glass in the wrist.
In the first half the cadets recapped their previous knowledge and useful acronyms. They also learned how to properly and effectively wrap a bandage around a cut wound. Then in the second half their skills were put to the test in scenarios which simulated a real life situation.
They all gained new knowle...dge tonight!

Tonight cadets took part in STEM activities as part of the RAFAC ‘STEM Strategy’ Royal Air Force Air Cadets STEM Coordinator. Our 6 newest recruits from the latest recruitment intake have been flying through their recruit training. As well as previously completing their Heartstart award, tonight they have completed the ‘Air Training Corps’ section with Sgt Turner and will next move onto the next topic ‘The Royal Air Force’!
Our other cadets were furthering their knowledge in aircraft recognition with CI Mcneil by learning different techniques about how to spot different aircraft which they all found very interesting.
