On this day on the 67th Anniversiary of his Death we remember Flt Lt John Quinton GC, DFC, whose actions saved the live of an Air Training Corps Cadet at the cost of his own.
He gave up the only parachute avalaible to allow the cadet to survive this decision would lead to his death shortly afterwords. He was awarded the George Cross posthumously for his actions. The Citation as released in the London Gazette says it best "Such an act of heroism and humanity ranks with the very highest traditions of the Royal Air Force, besides establishing him as a very gallant and courageous officer, who, by his action, displayed the most conspicuous heroism" He had no connection to 137 Sqn but we still remember his actions that saved the lifes of one of the wider family that is the Air Cadets.

Czech war graves
We were approached by Czech Air force association to see if we could help them place a bouquet at 4 airmen who were killed during the second World War. 1 was at Ayr cemetery and 3 at Stranraer cemetery. Flt Sgt Leslie and Cpl Mclachlan came with me to place the bouquets. We also managed to see the Trump motorcade after it left Turnberry for the airport. A nice end to the day.

Butterfly ball 2018
Supporting this charity which raises funds for Cancer Research UK was a great experience for the cadets. They worked really hard making the event work for Lorna and her committee. On the night just under £10k was raised bringing the total raised by Butterfly Events to just under £400k.
