Today cadets from 1739 were at Tayside Aviation experiencing flying through the Flying Aces Scheme.
3 of our cadets flew in PA-28-161 Warrior aircraft, with Cpl Andrade taking the controls during the hour long flight.

This afternoon the squadron attended a ceremony at Dalkeith Cemetery to mark the return of Sgt Patrick Donlevy's medals to his family, arranged by RAF Association - Edinburgh, Lothians and Borders Branch.
Sgt Pat Donlevy (from Dalkeith/Pathhead) was killed on return to his RAF at Bottesford in England after his Lancaster broke up whilst approaching the airfield having sustained severe damage from flak over Turin.
His medals were discovered in a skip a number of years ago, but... only recently has a connection to the family been found.
We are honoured to have been invited to represent Royal Air Force Air Cadets on this moving occasion.

Fantastic shooting by Cpl Andrade yesterday evening resulted in her gaining her Advanced Marksman badge on the CZ200 air rifle - one of the first to be awarded by our hosts 2466 (Loanhead) Squadron ATC.
Well done!

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Retired Warrant Officer Jim Allan (869 Penicuk & 1739 Newtongrange Sqn) he was a great ambassador for the Corps who always put his family and cadets first. He will be missed.
