Today it was a privilege for 1st Carluke to welcome 3 old Scout members for a blether and a walk down memory lane, through some of our old picture and records. Mr J Mclaren, Mr W Jackson & Mr J Raphael along with Bryan Hamilton (GSL), Cameron Hoey (Explorer Leader) & Megan Hoey (Scout Leader) all revisited 1st Carluke (St John's) Scouts from decades past. But guest of honour was most definitely Mr W (Bill) Jackson who is our oldest Scout and will be 100 years young this year and today kindly agreed to put his hand print on our Scout wall of hands.

For all parents of children who were at camp. There are number of articles of clothing at the scout hall including 2 bags of dirty clothes, boots, a sleeping bag and roll mat amongst other things. We also know some kids have gone home with clothes not belonging to them. Can you check the items in the hall entrance when you drop or pickup your children. We will only hold them for a couple of weeks so please check.

Hi All
I am sure that you will be glad to hear that all sections start back next week Monday 19th August 2019 on their usual days and times. Please remember that if you have any balances to be paid for Group Camp on 30th August then please pay next week.
We have sent out details and Kit List by email for all parents of children going to camp. If you did not get one you can PM your email address and I will forward on to you or you can get it from the section leaders next week.

Welcome to Boyce the newest member of 1st Carluke Scout Group. Cameron Hoey has been sponsoring Boyce for the last 5 years and had the opportunity to go to meet him this summer and work, together with Megan Hoey, in the Open Arms Orphanage in Blantyre, Malawi.

Just a couple of pictures from the cub sleepover. It was great that nearly all cubs attended and had a go at crate climbing as well as complete the hike. Everyone seemed to enjoy it although one cub did say it was like school but not as boring. Parents can look forward to a couple of badges to put on their jumpers.

Cubs out on hike with sleepover in hall to follow. Watched Mulan. Everyone is fine and now going to sleep (I hope 😁).

Well done to the 1st Carluke team B (Finlay, Haley-Jane, and Zak) who came 2nd in today's District Quiz. Well done also to the A team of Cooper, Janley and Ben.

For all parents of explorers at Subzero camp. There was a problem with the the tents but they are now sleeping in a chalet. Every cloud has a silver lining 😁 they are all safe and sound!

User

All scouts should take notice of this 😁

Just a reminder for all cubs to look out for the supermoon tonight. And don't forget your home work for tomorrow night.😁

Scout Parents/Guardians, At the end of the last session I spoke about a group for parents and guardians to ask questions and also a way to get information out from wednesday nights. Once you have requested to join just drop me a text message to let me know you have sent a request. Megan

Dear All Scout Parents and Guardians, If you have yet to responded to the parents night invite, please can you respond by 12 o'clock tomorrow to allow for leaders to set the hall up for parents evening and get refreshments sorted also. Hope to see you all there Megan & Gillian

Scouts just a wee reminder for scouts that tonight is the christmas film night in the hall. Scouts are more than welcome to come in christmas pjs, christmas jumpers or just casual clothes. They are also welcome to bring snacks for the film although we do have some in the hall and pillows, sleeping bags and duvets if they want to get comfy in the hall. See you all soon Megan & Gillian
