Today 278 Battery, 212 Battery and 207 Battery joined forces in introducing Fettes College to the Royal Artillery. The Cadets had a blast with a Gun Run, Vacuum Gun and a small Assault Course. 207 (City of Glasgow) Battery along with A Troop RA, Glasgow and Lanarkshire Battallion ACF hosted a Multi Cap Badged event for cadets from across the rest of the Battalion. The Cadets got some hands on experience with the VBS 3 indoor trainer, built a Vacuum Gun and were introduced to the L118 Light Gun. Members of 105 Regt RA attending the Saluting Guns Course held in Edinburgh this weekend. Soldiers learned and revised the skills required in order to support the scheduled Royal Salutes conducted in Edinburgh, Stirling and Glasgow.
This duty is additional to our primary gunnery role supporting the Regular Army on Operations and Exercises throughout the year.

Today on International Women's Day, Bdr Mawson from 278 (Lowland) Battery Royal Artillery fired the world famous One O Clock Gun at Edinburgh Castle. Also in support was Gunner Maxwell from 47 Regiment RA who is on her assignment with the Regular Outreach Team based in Redford Barracks Edinburgh.
