83Rd Glasgow Boys' Brigade

There's a chance that some of you got or will get a "Dear Parent..." email from The Boys' Brigade asking you to confirm your sons details, at least two of the staff have got them for themselves! If you have then it is legitimate, we're not sure why, but it is genuine. Online Brigade Manager is the membership portal that BBUK use, all the staff and boys are on there, it's how they keep track of who's a member and how much Companies have to pay as their annual fees. We need to ...put boys names, dates of birth and when they join (and leave) on the system, in theory we can use it for sending emails and texts but we've never done that from within the system. We were tempted at one point so some of your email addresses are with your sons information. If it's a question on the consent form you fill in at the start of the year then there's a field on OBM for recording it, we can also keep attendance and badge records. Confirmation of the results from the weekends Kilbryde Hike, once again well done and hopefully more than one team next year.

Last week was Volunteer Week and this evening at the Battalion Council meeting the work done by the leaders in all of the BB Companies in Glasgow was recognised, here's our certificate - 212 years of service have been given by our Company Staff, so far...

Well done to our Kilbryde Hike team they finished 6th out of the 30 teams taking part.

Here’s our team at the Kilbryde Hike posing with the Deputy First Minister and the local MSP after doing the last challenge. Well done on completing the Hike, and we hope you’ll get bonus points for having the most photos on social media.

Our hike team arrived at the camp site at about 4pm, that's them with the orange tent. It sounds like the weather has been better for them than it's been in the city today.

Our team have made it to checkpoint 3 of the Kilbryde Hike, there's an activity at most of the checkpoints. Checkpoint 5 is where they set up camp for the night so good progress is being made.

Anchor boys trip to cinema and park yesterday, a good day had by all.

Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us tonight at our Annual Display, it's always good to see the hall full of parents, family and friends.
Our Anchor Boys best boy was Adlane Mokdad, Juniors was Callum Bamford, Company Section have a Junior best boy, at the lower end of the age range, Cameron Wilson, and Best Boy, DP Hood Trophy Winner was Eric McPhail.
Anchors and Juniors are both off on trips tomorrow, Anchors to the cinema and park with a bite to eat in the middle and Juniors are off to Millport for the day.

A reminder that it's our Inspection this evening. Boys should be down at 7pm we'll be starting at 7.15pm. We have a few display items, our presentation of awards and then tea / coffee to round off the evening. All welcome.
