Most impressed with the customer service I have received from Noble's garage on Edinburgh Road in Penicuik.
Contacted them late afternoon yesterday to enquire when they could take car to remove and replace registration plates and the cost. Advised I could take car down first thing this morning with the necessary paperwork which I did at 08:00. Didn't have time to hang around, was offered and accepted a lift back to house so I could pick up my car to go to work. My chauffeur was friendly and chatty, very refreshing. And not only that, the garage had offered to drop the car off when the job was complete. Well....Iain text me at 09:37 to say car was back in driveway. That's what I call going the extra mile, no pun intended.

Absolutely terrible!!!! Booked my 3.5 years old car for an MOT. They kept me there only for around 40 minutes (they seemed pressed for time) just to tell me that a ball joint had gone and needed changing but they haven't got the part and please come back in a few days. It looked more like "I haven't got the time to deal with you so please come back another day!!! I took the car to National Tyres and experienced a great customer service. To top it, they called me a few days later to charge me a full MOT price of £58 over the telephone. AF Noble give me the impression that we should be grateful to them for our custom. I certainly shall not be coming back

Shocking service and attitude! Very bad, disappointing experience at Nobles. I will never go near this garage again and will certainly not recommend or buy another vehicle from them again. The workshop seem to be resting on the fact that they have “40 cars booked in a day”! Business obviously comes easily, therefore no need to make any effort to please and no customer interaction!

I had a fuel pressure related problem with my Isuzu Rodeo (purchased from this dealership). My local garage was unable to fix the problem so I phoned Noble and spoke with (on that day only) a very helpful Colin Noble. However, sadly when the car was taken to the garage his attitude and that of the reception staff was quite different. I wanted the mechanics to be aware of the work previously done and the parts which had already been replaced on the vehicle (as still under warranty) and to provide some background info so as not to end up with a large bill in respect of parts already replaced and the car still with the same fault. An hour was spent on the car in the morning and it was then left lying for the rest of the day despite a conversation in which it was agreed that a fuel filter should be changed and a further hour’s diagnosis should take place. I tried to make it clear that changing the fuel filter would not solve the problem as over the course of the past 10 months the vehicle has had many new fuel filters (including some genuine Isuzu filters) and this was not the solution. I explained that I appreciated that Noble had to eliminate the possibility of the fuel filter being the cause and asked them to replace it but to move on to the next possible cause and check that. It was therefore agreed, via telephone that another hour would be spent on the car followed by an update! This did not happen and it appears my comments /concerns did not register with Noble.

After phoning to find out what was happening I was advised that nothing was happening! I collected my car late afternoon to find that it was in a worse state than it was when it was left with them in the morning. I was astonished that the car had been left with the existing fault code (if it had been cleared it would have meant the car would run perfectly for several miles) and now an additional fault code had appeared as they had removed the fuel filter but put the same “damaged” one back on! How extraordinary! This obviously made it very difficult to make the 30 mile journey home, at rush hour, in the dark with the engine shutting down every few miles. Clearing the fault codes and at least fitting a new fuel filter, having taken one off, would have been the least they could have done for an hours work at £90 per hour labour!
I intend to buy a new vehicle which will be another Isuzu pickup but I will certainly never go anywhere near Noble again.
I do not recommend this garage.

No more chances at A F Noble & Son. Replaced a motor which they could not attach the electric fan instead they gave me a switch to flick when it over heats. This activates the fan. Which I regrettably said that would be fine until the summer which the fan wires over heated and started to burn/melt the plastic. I was told not to have the switch on all the time... Didn't make any sense as the second hand engine would over heat without it on. Another van an EGR valve replaced however the mechanic twisted a water supply pipe to the back of the engine which over heated and caused the head gasket to blow. This was two months after EGR replacement. Photos were taken of the twisted hose and reports were given to Noble's which they state anyone could of worked on your van since we replaced the EGR valve.

Please don't come here - this company is expensive and will try ways to make out it wasn't their fault. I now use motor company in Penicuik which till now is a more family run type business.
