We would like to thank the Dreghorn Musical Society for their kind donation of the flowers used from their Spring Concert. Abbeyfield was nominated for these by a former relative and we really appreciate this gesture.

On your marks, get set, bake!
What a fantastic day we had yesterday with the Great Abbeyfield Bake Off! With a coffee morning, tombola stall and then the judging of the cakes we managed to raise £177.50 for the Stand Up To Cancer charity.
... The winner of the Bake Off was Sadie Hunter, one of our residents daughters, who was under strict instructions to use her mums recipe for her pineapple tarts, congratulations Sadie!

Now that the Easter festivities are over for another year, we thought we would share a few more moments of the Intergenerational partnership with Elderbank Nursery. These photos show the relationships between our Residents and Nursery pupils have grown and we look forward to another 4 weeks working alongside each other!

User

We have recently partnered with Elderbank Early Years Centre to bring together 2 different age groups through intergenerational working. For the past 3 weeks we have enjoyed taking time getting to know the children, painting together to create a Wishing Tree and doing Yoga to enhance our bodies and minds. The residents and children have built lasting friendships and look forward to seeing each other each week.

On pancake day we enjoyed having a few pupils from Irvine Royal Academy serving us our pancakes with different toppings!

We are very proud to tell everyone of the results of our care inspection this week. Over the 2 days we achieved 3 x level '5' and 1 x level '6', our '6' being outstanding and sector leading. This was granted for 'people getting the most out of life'. The inspection has a new grading system with a '6' being extremely hard to achieve. Well done to all the staff with a special mention to Carrie for her lead in CAPA and Heather for her role as Activities Coordinator, both were considered to be innovative, inventive and creative.

The morning after the night before...
Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Christmas Party last night, as always it was a fantastic night coming together to celebrate Christmas and the year that we have had! From the children and residents showing what they have been learning together by singing Baby Shark in Spanish, to the usual comedy skits, singing and of course the visit from Santa! 🎅🏻 A great night had by all!

... This will be spoken about at the next Relatives Meeting for anyone interested and wanting to learn more.

As the weather turns and the nights start to draw in, we reflect on a fantastic summer of bbqs, karaokes, outings in the sun, celebrating the world cup, embracing the traditions of Marymass and just spending time with family, friends and each other.
Thank you to everyone who has visited Abbeyfield over the summer and especially to those who contributed towards our Marymass fun day which goes towards our Resident Social Fund and enables us to spend time together outwith Abbeyfield, hail rain or shine!
Now, bring on the Christmas festivities!

Our residents will be out as usual to enjoy the parade, we are not allowing rain . Any donations for the bottle stall will be gratefully received.
