Full session: school pick up to 6.15pm - £15 Hourly rates: 1st hour £6.50 includes school pick up and snack, following hours £5.50
... Our afterschool club with AWARD WINNING staff caters for all primary school aged children.
We offer a pick up service from Kirknewton Primary, St Paul's Primary, East Calder Primary, Mid Calder Primary and Pumperston Primary in a either a 'walking bus' or in ABC Vehicles.
We provide a comfortable and secure environment, where children feel valued and appreciated. The children are transported to/ from school in ABC’s vehicles wearing high visibility vests as safety is essential.
The club prides itself on running a wide variety of activities for children which are aimed at allowing the children to develop skills, build happy relationships and also have fun. Daily planned programmes are designed to complement the school curriculum with a strong emphasis on fun and constructive play. Outdoor play is organised along with “Quiet Zones” for homework and PC use.

New EAST CALDER Out of School Club
ABC is delighted to announce new additions to our “family”. Joining our highly reputable nursery and out of school care club (OOSC) located in Dedridge, Livingston, we are pleased to introduce our 2 new “BABIES” They have been named ABC East Calder OOSC and as the name suggests this is located in East Calder, within Tot’s Spot Play Café on the Main Street and her sister ABC Craigsfarm OOSC in Craigshill, Livingston.
ABC OOSC’s provide after... school and holiday club from the new settings catering to children of primary school aged.
We opened our first club in 2012 which complemented our nursery setting that has been established since 2002 and has an excellent reputation. Both clubs are registered to care for 20 children each, were a comfortable and secure environment will be created for everyone involved, where each child feels valued and appreciated. The East Calder club will service the schools in East/Mid Calder, Kirknewton & Pumpherston. The children will form a “walking bus” from the schools located in East Calder or transported from the schools located at Kirknewton, Mid Calder & Pumpherston in ABC’s vehicles that will be dispatched in accordance with each school’s closing time. The Craigsfarm setting will collect children from Letham, Riverside, Toronto and St Andrews Primary schools.
The club prides themselves on running a wide variety of activities for children which are aimed at allowing the children to develop skills, build happy relationships and also have fun. Daily planned programmes are designed to complement the school curriculum with a strong emphasis on fun and constructive play. The club’s wide assortment of materials and play equipment caters for all ages and allows children the freedom of a flexible range of activities. Outdoor play is organised along with “Quiet Zones” for homework and PC use. Outdoor play is organised daily including trips to local amenities such as parks, walks and swimming pools. We encourage independence as well as a sense of ownership and respect for the children’s environment both indoors and outdoors. We believe that children deserve a rich and varied environment in which to develop the social, creative and intellectual skills which contribute to a full and happy life. We focus on playing the way children like to play. We have a “Quiet Zone” for homework, PC use and such.

To showcase our fantastic new Out of School setting we are holding an open evening. We are collecting from many schools in the area including East Calder, Pumpherston and St Paul's. Our setting is open during term time until 6.15pm. East Calder will not be offering a holiday club service at the moment but we are offering holiday club at our Dedridge and Craigsfarm branches. Come along and have a look, speak to staff and see for yourself the exciting things we get up to. We are lucky enough to be in partnership with Tots Spot and they will also be opening the cafe during the open evening and they would love to welcome you to their fantastic cafe and play facilities. Registration forms will be available on the night and staff will be there to answer any questions you may have. Spaces are limited so don't delay in getting in touch with us.

School holidays are just around the corner... do you need Summer holiday care ? We have a fun filled 7 week program planned. *** Holiday Club*** On Monday the holiday club will be heading to Polkemmet Country Park for the day and on Tuesday it will be a day in Falkirk exploring the Kelpies, Helix Park and Callendar Park. Please ensure you child comes along prepared with a change of clothes, wellies(if Possible on Monday), a small rucksack and a water bottle. Holiday club is unfortunately full on Tuesday. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!!!

You will notice today that we now have our own clothes bank outside the nursery. This is a start for our Eco School ♻️ award and a way to raise funds. Our bin accepts all types of adult and children's clothing as well as shoes, bags, belts and linen. The only exceptions for the bin is pillows and duvets. The bin is open at all times and all anyone is welcome to use it. Keep us in mind the next time you are having a clear out 👍

WEATHER ALERT - there are no forecasts indicating snow at present so appears that the authorities have been taken by complete surprise, which is supported by no gritters having been out. The snow immediately outside ABC is pretty bad so much so the staff have moved the cars to the top of the hill. Unfortunately I cannot find any guidance to help me in making a decision other than what I can see out the window and looking to the skies which show no signs of the snow stopping. I am growing in concern from a safety point of view and with this in mind I have decided to request that the children in our this afternoon be pick up asap please

The Met Office has now upgraded the weather warning to red. You can see from the link provided that the red warning is in place from 3pm until 10am tomorrow. We have now made the very difficult decision to close at 3pm today and remain closed tomorrow. I’m sure you can all understand this has been a difficult decision to make but we must follow national guidance to ensure we protect the children and staff in our care. We will keep you updated via Facebook and email. Thank you in advance.
