Thanks to all the very attentive staff this morning who helped my son, who has Autism, navigate through the airport smoothly and onto our flight. The lanyard works! The lanyard is an excellent scheme and works a treat!

User

My onward flight from Manchester was delayed for over an hour and being diabetic and disabled had eaten nothing since breakfast time and I was beginning to feel unwell, but thanks to the member of staff who was looking after me she went and bought me a snack and a drink at her own expense so all I can say is if the are more people like her on your staff you do indeed deserve the highest of praise. Her name is Val Flett and indeed one in a million.

User

on Tuesday 29th May I used Aberdeen airport....My flybe/eastern flight to Cardiff was cancelled...another flight was later found for which I had to go back through security...after going through the checks I later realised my ipad was missing ..went back to security where... All staff... were helpful in trying to locate it....but especially Nicky and and CCTV chap whose name I did not ask.. were exceptional in helping me find my I pad......The two policemen on duty were also exceptionally helpful and successful in their efforts which resulted in me getting back my ipad on the tarmac before flight left.....Thank You again everyone...……...Lesley Hockey

User

Was easy to check in fast getting threw security not a long walk to my gate but when I came back to Aberdeen from London the route from Plane to UK belt was a bit of a walk but pretty much happy with the Airport

User

Shockingly lacking in customer care and Eastern cancel and change flights at will....and they charge a fortune for the privilege!!

User

Fancy new coat of paint now, but the only changes in terms of efficiency seem to be making you walk further with your bags. The number of staff/desks seems to be pretty much unchanged, so what was the point?...I suspect to make people spend more in the fancy new commercial area.

Pretty fitting that the baggage collection is at the wrong side of the airport, fits right in with the train station!

User

used it for first time coming back from summer holiday last week. New terminal building in operation. So going in was perfectly fine bit better than previous way out. On return now baggage collection is miles out the way. Most, if not all airports have baggage collection on the way out. Not Aberdeen - you now have to trek several miles in one direction to reach the baggage collection before trudging all the way back. Who came up with that design and layout and what was the logic behind it and most importantly what were they smoking when it was approved?

User

Toytown, sad little airport pretending to be a major one. Never mind how many building go up around it, it’s still an absolutely useless waste of space! I had yo stand, using crutches for over 30 min to get through the porta scaffold (worse than offshore quality). When flying the day after leaving hospital i was told that there may not be anyone to help take my bags off the carousel, this was told by a member of staff so unfriendly it was incredible. At other airports the staff are friendly and helpful, not so at aberdeen airport. Next, £2 to drop someone off, yeah, major rip off. This airport is not a local business it’s another big scam. I cannot think of one redeeming quality. Use Edinburgh or Glasgow but not ToytownAirport!

User

Thanks aberdeen airport for being more incompetent than any other airport I've ever been too (including when I flew into remote Mozambique during the floods) Was stuck on freezing plane for 40 mins because the ground staff had finished and no one to bring steps to plane, then another 40 mins waiting for luggage to be loaded (apparently no luggage staff either) then got to the taxi rank with 200 other passengers from various flights to be told by cabcomm that they didn't know there were people waiting for taxi, but the best they could do was tell the taxis to come. Some wee fat jobsworth guy then told me that I should wait inside as they'd prob all finished mostly for the night and when I complained said 'it was a diff story when they were waiting for you when you were waiting for your luggage huh?' Well yeah it was cause that's their job and they had a car and heating and it's minus 3 degrees - and I had to walk home from the airport with all my Xmas presents, heavy case while after travelling for 25 hours. I also managed to stop a city cabs taxi who advised me he couldn't legally pick me up from the airport grounds because cabcomm have the airport monopoly. I've since found out said guy could have put on the green light to allow other taxi company cabs through to collect us. On a plus note - thanks to the beautiful London/ Montrose couple who picked me up on their way to Montrose and saved me from inevitable frostbite after I walked 3k in the frost. The reason I've written this rant on Facebook is because I'm going to post it on all their websites. inc ab city council, aberdeen airport and commcab. Shame on you all for making a single female walk home on the road like that. It's embarrassing for other foreign visitors to experience that on arrival. Apart from my own annoyance I was embarrassed st the incompetence of my own town services. Also since writing this my dad dropped me off the following day to collect a hire car and find out who I complain two and was charged 2 pounds for literally dropping me off at the car rental. What s joke

User

Spent god know how much money on an extension just to move the tiny baggage reclaim carousel to a different spot where it takes over half an hour to get bags for the only flight in at that time. international? Really?

User

So sad to encounter microwave body scanners today at what used to be a lovely friendly airport that I have used for 35 years :( Just 2 month ago I flew from Aberdeen, triggered a beep, had an instant and friendly manual pat done there and then. No harm done. THIS time I triggered the beep again, was told to go in the body scanner. I refused and asked for a pat down, which is my legal right. I was asked why - actually, that's an intrusive question, and by law I didn"t have to give a reason but I said I"d had cancer already and didn't want a relapse. Bizarrely the security officer asked me if I had a doctor's note. What?!?! I could have offered to strip off there and then to show her the scar from the surgery but for Heaven's sake - what happened to the common sense and common decency that was in operation just a couple of weeks ago? I was then escorted to a side room, where I had to read a page of legalese consenting to the manual pat down, and sign the form. Again, what happened to common sense in 2 weeks? There is NO danger of contracting cancer, DNA unravelling etc from a manual pat down. There are known and unknown health risks from multiple exposure to full body scanners - yet no request to sign a disclaimer for those, and no information at the point of the scanner alerting unsuspecting travellers of the risks, or letting them know they have the legal right to request a pat down instead. This is shocking and hugely disappointing. Please please PLEASE ditch these machines, and let's get back to being the friendly airport with meaningful human interactions! I don't put any blame on the staff - I got the impression that they were uncomfortable with the whole situation and rightly so - they"re exposed to these machines day in, day out. Look up " the truth about cancer - airport full body scanners " for more info.

Picking up my wife on flight BA1318 on Friday 15Dec (now at the time I am writing this). Flight landed at 22.2x and have been waiting over 2 hours to get the bag as of now and may take even longer! Airport staff made an announcement that bags will arrive shortly which was simply a lie. No one can tell what was happening, no information on how long we needed to wait. All the staffs a could told us was that the crews were busying deicing the plane and no idea why they thought it would be ok to leave customers waiting. No compensation, nothing. I would give zero star if I could.

User

Is this the worst airport in the UK/Europe/world!!! 30 mins waiting on bags after landing from Heathrow. Bag delivery completed according to the board but around 40 people waiting on bags! £1 to get into the smoke shack, not to mention £2 to get dropped off and up to £10 to get picked up. Disgracefully designed and run, do they care? Do they F***.

User

Is it really too much for departure security staff to crack a smile... despite the facelift... same old miserable and rude staff this morning... rudeness and sarcasm towards my children... wow! A new low... get a grip Aberdeen airport... leaves a real sour taste... you want to increase tourism... it's all about the experience... the people!

User

For an airport that boasts being "international" the customer service is shocking. Came in on BA1318 on Friday and gave up waiting for my bags after an hour... No real reason for the bags not showing up other than the crews were busy de-icing planes. I've been across the other side of the planet and just by looking at the forecast, I could have told you they would have to be de-icing planes!!! The baggage handling in Indonesian ferry ports far exceeds the service Aberdeen Airport provide.

User

During the security checks, I was refused to carry boiled water for my 2 year old son under the pretext that he is travelling on his own seat! I told the staff that the water was for his formula and I was about to use it immediately for my son to drink (it was about 5 o clock in the morning!!!). The staff and (rude) manager told me to dispose of the water in the main airport, go through the security gates and queue at a shop to ask for boiled water?!?

Common sense would have let me travelled with the water and avoid this time-wasting and frustrating episode.

No impressed at all!!!

User

Domestic Arrivals is a complete joke, what idiot architect designed the domestic arrival baggage carousels at the most furthest point of the Airport, the days of walking out to the carousel, collecting you bag and off you go are gone, now you do a full tour of the airport, walk all the way to the end get your bag ( if they can be bothered to switch the carousel on) then walk all the way back, you more interested in folks money than there experience of the Airport. Give you selfs a pat on the back for the most retarded Airport in the UK!!!!!

User

Absolutely worst service ever! 1st flight of the day at 5:30am to Frankfurt and waiting on the departure gate for over an hour!! All because your deicing machine is not working and now we have to wait for a tech to come manually deice is. Yes, the weather is bad, but don’t you put checks in place for this not to happen.

Thanks to this, I have now missed my connection to Houston from Frankfurt. Terrible! But do you care about the impact this has on passengers? I think not.

User

Aberdeen airport service is abysmal. Waiting for luggage (domestic flight) for more than 45mins and still no sign of any. No one to give explaination of what is the cause of delay and no assistance in sight at the airport.
