MAY is Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month.
We had hoped to post lots of photos of our fantastic and hard working nursing team but they have all been super busy dedicating their time to our lovely patients so we thought we would give them a little shout out today before the month ends.
We are very lucky to have an amazing nursing team at AVR who work closely with the Veterinary Surgeons and other staff to ensure the best care for your pets.
... This is Jura enjoying some cuddles from RVN Lindsay. Jura was in for femoral head neck excision surgery where she recovered well and was wagging her tail in no time! ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿถ

Marbles Marbles was recently referred to AVR following 5 days missing. We suspected Marbles suffered a road traffic accident and after a CT scan we confirmed not only a femoral fracture but also displaced acetabular fracture(marked by red arrows)
Scott and the team pinned and plated Marbles fractured femur and a plate was applied to the pelvis to stabilise the acetabular fracture.
... Marbles will require strict cage rest until these fractures heal with post operative X-rays at weeks 6 and 12 required to assess the healing.
We wish Marbles the best of luck in her recovery. She was a joy to have in the practice ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฑ

Last week we visited the fantastic site of One Stop Waste to discuss ways in which we can reduce our waste going to landfill and increase our recycling. One Stop Waste recycles a whopping 97% of the waste they receive on site. Watch this space for some of green changes โ™ป๏ธ
