MEET THE COMMITTEE The final member of our amazing committee for the year is our President Sam Guild! Sam is going into her third year on the team and last year was the teams Secretary. Last year Sam competed as part of the Jazz and Contemporary competition teams.
SamвҖҷs main roles this year is to work with the Vice President to oversee the running of the team over the course of the whole year as well as assisting all members of the committee and team with anything they need.... Our next committee member for the upcoming year is Alison Ross! Alison is going into her third year on the team and first year on the committee as Vice President! AlisonвҖҷs main role within the committee is to assist the president with all decisions and the overall running of the team! Last year Alison competed as part of the tap, jazz, contemporary and ballet team! Alison also choreographed the ballet routine last year.
AlisonвҖҷs favourite part of UADDT is ...the opportunities that come with being on the team such as: travelling to competitions, the teams annual trip abroad and performing at varsity! Alison also loved making lots of new friends when she first came to uni!

Our next committee member for the upcoming year is Abbey Gibson! Abbey is going into her second year on the team and and her first year on the committee as our secretary! AbbeyвҖҷs roles within the committee include: organising competitions and annual show, emailing and taking minutes within committee meetings! THEY DID IT! Today 3 members of the UADDT committee completed a 5k tough mudder to raise funds for their upcoming dance year! Treasurer Caitlin Johnston, Vice President Alison Ross and President Sam Guild were the brave runners and worked together as a team to complete the course! Next up is our ballet team performing at Manchester Dance competition, choreographed by next semesters Vice President Alison Ross! рҹ’ҷрҹ’ӣ

As itвҖҷs exam week here at Abertay, we will be posting all the videos from our recent competition season to try and make this week a little more bearable!
First up here is our contemporary team performing at Edinburgh Competition back in February. The dance was choreographed by President Heather Macrae and Treasurer Ellis Munton рҹ’ӣрҹ’ҷ This dance scored very high and was 1 point off 3rd place at this competition.

Today our girls are at our 10 hour Sportathalon raising money for charities OddBalls and Coppafeel!!

ABERTAY DANCE SHOW 2018!!
Saturday the 21st of April, in the main lecture theatre in Abertay University. Doors will open at 7pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm.
There will be some lovely dancers at the front of the uni in our kit to show you the way if you get lost.
... There will also be raffle tickets and refreshments available for purchase at the beginning of the show. Once the show is finished, we shall be having an after party to celebrate the closing of this year in style! (VENUE TBC)
Come along and watch us showcase all that we have learned over the 17/18 season! With dances in jazz, hip hop, contemporary, ballet, tap and highland!
Once again the show will be presented by the fabulous Rory Galbraith!
Entrance is ВЈ5 per person (under 16's go free), and will be payable on the door on the night of the show.

Come join us for a lip sync battle!

UADDT are hosting a Lip Sync Battle fundraiser in the Abertay Union on Wednesday 7th March. Entry is ВЈ4 on the door, ВЈ2 if you are taking part and the first battle will begin at 8:30pm.
There is a maximum of 5 people in a group and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
... Anyone is welcome to join in! If you're wanting to participate in the battle, can you mail us on our Facebook page/one of the committee with how many are in your group and what song you would like to perform to. We have the committee as the fabulous judges, who will be marking you on performance, costumes and choreography рҹҳҸ

The team at the annual EUMDS competition on Saturday!
Unfortunately no silverware was won, but the competition was insane, probably the highest standard of dance we have competed against. With that said I am happy to announce that we received a 4th in contemporary (1 point difference between getting a 3rd!), 6th in ballet, 9th in Jazz, 5th in Tap, 6th in Wildcard and 5th in Hip hop.
One of our freshers, Becca Stewart, also got nominated for best female dancer for her perfor...mance in Hip hop.
The team is heading to Manchester next weekend for another competition! Good luck girls and craig (and stefinnina our mascot)!!
