Abertay University Library Description
Library & IT Drop-in sessions run three times per week during term time in the IT Training Suite on Level 2 of the Library: Tues 11-12, Weds 12-1, Thurs 3-4.
There are a wide variety of textbooks to support your studies, with the main lending section on level 3 of the library and the Law lending and reference sections on level 4. We also have a huge range of online resources with our e-Books and online Journals, which are available for all registered Abertay staff & students to use both on & off campus. LibrarySearch is our academic search engine - it searches all our subscribed full-text journal articles, e-books and most of the library's online resources plus everything physically held in the library (print books, DVDs, journals etc. )
We have 150 PCs available for student use, with a further 72 PCs available during non-teaching hours in our Seminar Rooms and IT Training Suite. We have spaces for laptop use and it's possible to connect your devices to the Eduroam network to access all facilities.
There is an Academic Librarian for each school in the University, who have specialist knowledge and hold sessions throughout the year to offer advice and support on using the many Library resources effectively. Our Digital Skills Officer is here to help you with your Microsoft Office applications (including formatting long documents, creating graphs & charts etc. ) Blackboard, Pebble +

You should start all of your searches with LibrarySearch - our academic search engine. And if you want to search any database directly, always use our Resources A-Z page - that means you'll be recognised as being from Abertay so you won't have to hunt about lookin...g for the correct sign-in option (if you're not recognised or authenticated, you can't get to the full-text content that you're after!)

Hello and Happy Thursday!
Phase II of the Library refurbishment project is nearing completion so as we ramp up for the final week, here's a quick update on what's been happening.
The Library Services Team will be moving back to our swanky new Level 4 office next week. We can't wait to be back in the Library where we belong 🤓📚📚📚😍

Hello! The Library Building Opening Hours Monday 18th June-Friday 6th July are: Monday-Friday 09:00-19:00 (Closed Saturday & Sunday)
Levels 3 & 4 are closed all summer for refurbishment but we do have a summer lending collection of high-demand items available in the Creative Design Suite, Level 2, Library. If you have any queries about access to resources during the summer just drop us an email: library@abertay.ac.uk
