These sneak peeks from Sarah & Harry's wedding give a glimpse of just how spectacular the day was...
This was the second wedding in 2 days for us. Coincidentally, both couples married in a small rural church, held their reception in a marquee at home and had a very relaxed day with few staged group shots. Yet the two days could not have been more different...
And that is what is so good about shooting weddings. Even with nearly identical formats, no two are ever the same.
... We had the most wonderful time capturing it all and got to work with some lovely people, yet again.

Here are some images from Jayne & Douglas' wedding last Friday. A fantastic day spent with some truly lovely people!
When you get married in a marquee on your family farm, it would be silly not to use the unbelievably photogenic fields right next door...
Special mention to Rev. Steven Potts for his impromptu rendition of The Troggs' (Wet Wet Wet) classic "Love is all around" during the service. I don't think anyone was expecting that... Not even the bride & groom themselves!

After a busy 2 days shooting weddings, we are having some well-earned family time today.
Fire on, snuggles with the little ones and catching up on odd jobs around the house.

A Ballater quine, a Finzean loon and one hell of a guid pairty!!
Kerry & Michael's Coo Cathedral wedding was a belter! The great and the good of #Ballater and #Finzean were out to celebrate with them on Saturday.
... What started off as a scorcher of a day, ended in exciting thunder storms and torrential rain. But the fun never stopped.
It was so lovely to be a part of this special day. A surprise appearance by the Ballater pipe band was a particular high point.
Congratulations again to the happy couple. We can't wait to share the rest of the photos with you all soon...

Great memories from last week's wedding...
We're back at Coo Cathedral again today for another. But that's cool, it's just so dang pretty there!
Last week, the venue looked especially amazing with the help of 3 Tiers, xoxo florist and Amy at Cymbeline.
... Corey & Ryan's wedding was such a perfect day from start to finish. Lots of laughter, plenty of sushine and gallons of happy tears.

In Scotland, they say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. "A wet knot is a strong knot."
In that case Eleanor & Daniel's marriage is surely set to last! Last weekend's stormy conditions weren't an issue however, certainly nothing a few brollies and a game couple can't overcome...
... These guys had a wonderful ceremony at the stunning Saint Mary's Chapel, S Deeside Rd, Blairs followed by a reception at The Marcliffe at Pitfodels. The performance during the ceremony by Pandy Arthur - Soprano, accompanied by string quartet, was just spectacular to hear.
Special mention goes out to the grandparents though... Eleanor and her "Nonno" (grandpa) were just so cute together. A beautiful friendship that would melt your heart. Daniel also made a touching comment in his speech about his own grandma. There were quite a few teary eyes in the room at that point!
It was lovely to work with Strawberry Wedding Films again.

We've been looking forward to this wedding ever since meeting Elaine & Scott. When we took their pre-wedding photos and discussed their plans, there was plenty to get excited about...
It more than lived up to expectations too!
Although this recent spell of wet weather tried, once again, to interfere with photos. Elaine & Scott were happy to just embrace it. With a marquee, some brollies and tree cover we managed no problem.... And as you can see, they had an absolute blast!
Elaine's vision for the wedding was a photographers dream. And with help from some friends & Scott's super-talented mum this was realised.

It's usually a bit of a faux pas to take the focus away from the bride & groom on their wedding day. But Lauren & Barry's adoreable son, Michael, is exempt from this rule...
He posed for photos like a true star, danced his little kilt socks off and even thanked a room full of people for coming to his mummy & daddy's wedding. Hats off to the wee man, he deserves all the attention he got. A true credit to his parents.
It was an honour to be a part of this beautiful little famil...y's wedding day at Drumtochty Castle. The rain was falling down but the spirits were high.

We've been excited about shooting this one for a while now... Davy & Jen's wedding was even more fun than we could have hoped for.
Having also photographed the weddings of Davy's two siblings (Kathy & Steven), the pressure was on to deliver a third time. But, as you can see, these guys made our job an absolute cake walk...
The celebrant summed it up perfectly when she said "it wouldn't be a Shanks wedding without at least one family member getting up to perform.." And perform... they did! With Davy's father & sister both singing & playing guitar beautifully during the ceremony.
It was a fantastic day from start to finish!
