Have had the same GP for nearly 20 years. Well, I think so. Apparently that's been changed, but I don't know since nobody's told me. That however, does not matter, since one has more chance of winning the lottery than seeing a doctor in this place. The best one can hope for is a phone call from a nurse, but, as I am not on the phone, I simply will not be seen under any circumstances. Needless to say, I am dreading being ill, since I will have to deal with it on my own with no help from this uncaring lot. NHS - don't make me laugh.

I wish 0 stars was an option. I have had nothing but problems with Academy Medical Centre. I phoned on Friday 29 September as I had a pain in my hip and have had previous problems with it and was told to phone back next week because my doctor does not work on a Friday. So if you are ill and your doctor is not working that day you will just have to suffer? Therefore, I had to book an appointment to see a chiropractor to get this looked at. Usually when I phone in requesting to see a doctor, I get asked if I really need to see a doctor and end up receiving a phone call from a nurse and if you miss that phone call, that is it. I think I am old enough and smart enough to know when my problem needs the attention of a doctor or a nurse. I do not know why the receptionists (who are very rude) think they can decide who you need to see. Getting any appointment is near impossible and you cannot book appointments in advance. The practice has become a joke, an embarrassment to the NHS.

In agreement with other reviews. Reception staff are often rude or surly, even argumentative on occasion. As the first port of call for all patients this is completely unacceptable. I've been a client at the surgery for many years but still haven't been able to build a comfortable rapport with any of the practice GP's. If I were in better health just now I would seriously consider changing to another practice.

Absolutely terrible you can't get appointments booked in advance! You have to make a call early in the morning and as if it was a lottery get lucky and you will be seen by a doctor.
How do you explain that in a workplace?
Sorry I might not be able to work tomorrow?
I might have about appointment with the doctor?
And if you get through, first you need to deal with the receptionists questions and if she thinks it's appropriate she will refer you to a nurse and if she thinks you need to see a doctor, then you might get a telephone call?
Absolutely ridiculous!

Absolute shambles, disgusting the way they treat patients and the reception staff are rude and look down their noses at you, the most unhelpful and unknowledgeable people at the face of your business, since when is a receptionist properly trained to hand out blood results and this also beaches my patient doctor confidentiality.Trying to see a doctor is a near impossibility, impossible to leave a message for a doctor to call you back if it is not for that day, tried on 3 occasions in the last week and keep getting fobbed off. The incompetence and lack of follow up is degrading and disgusting, if I had another place to go I would. If possible avoid this place and go elsewhere, never have I ever been so annoyed trying to speak to a doctor, gp rules are a joke and take advantage of people not in the know. I will be making an official complaint. Disgusted, no individuality, you really are just a number here. No interest whatsoever in making you feel welcome, all because they are in a position of power.
