A message from our friend Calum Johnston:
To the People I know who do Parkour/Circus/Any other kind of movement stuffs... So Myself and Franziska are currently involved with the Charity Movement Park who are looking to create a Multi-Disciplined Movement Space just off Partick, on South Street. There will be a number of activities inc Judo, Dance, Weight-Lifting, Table Tennis, Kendama, Circus Arts, Skate Sports ect. More Importantly for Parkour Peeps, we are planning to build... a Flexible Parkour Park for the community to Play, Explore and Manipulate the space how you want it. We will be putting on Classes/Open Training for all ages, Multi-disciplined events and Parkour Jams. Movement Park (as the name suggests) is all about getting Children and Adults in Glasgow moving. Part of our ethos is crossing over activities to giving practitioners a rounded understanding of different Movement Vocabulary. We aim to improve the Physical Literacy of everyone who comes through, hopefully allowing practitioners to explore confidently new activities and ultimately skill share in a safe and progressive environment. I am really excited for this place to be set up as I believe it could become a hub for Movement Communities in Glasgow and a great space for all. This is why I am asking for your help, I know its late in the year and everyone has other focuses, but if any of you have a few quid and feel like supporting a local community based charity have a look at the link, or if not Share the link to let others know more about it. This could really be a positive change in the Parkour and Movement community in Glasgow and it would be amazing to have your support. Thanks for your time :)
