Acting Up was started by actress Emma Currie in 1997 when she was asked by the DTI oil & gas division to turn a dry supply chain management message into something more engaging. The company then began turning all sorts of messages into live theatre, using real language and human themes. Since then Emma has focussed largely on safety theatre, inspiring and motivating industrial audiences to take ownership of their own safety behaviour. Acting Up is a small, dynamic and passionate company which taps into the global theatre network to deliver live performances all over the world. Emma injects heart-felt honesty into her pieces and brings to the fore what really matters in life. Acting Up also collaborates with film company Digital Circus, creating TV style drama with corporate behavioural messages. Clients include Shell, BT Openreach, National Grid, E. ON, Diageo, AWE, British Sugar, London 2012 Olympics, Talisman Energy, Statoil and AMEC.
