About us

Active Care is a family run company providing 24 hour care and support in the community. We have a reputation for delivering a high quality, personal service to vulnerable people in their own home. Based in Ayrshire, we provide a flexible, round the clock service tailored to suit your needs: everything from personal care and bathing to meal preparation, companionship, shopping and overnight stays.

Active Care was established in 2001 by Joy MacFarlane who has had over 10 years experience in the Health Service. Manager, Lyndsey MacFarlane has an HND in Supporting Special Learning Needs and has over 8 years experience in care at home. Both Joy and Lyndsey have achieved their Registered Managers Award as well as an SVQ Level 4 in Management. .

All our staff are trained and dedicated. They all wear Active Care uniform and carry photographic ID. They are selected for their personality, caring attitude and sense of humour. They all have an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland and must provide two references. Many of our team have been with us from the beginning, providing continuity and a sound knowledge base.

Active Care is registered with the Care Commission and is on the Authorised Providers List for South and North Ayrshire. We are a member of Scottish Care at Home. We are also registered with SQA and provide training for our own staff and can provide training for staff from other agencies.
