About Adc Theatre

The ADC Theatre and Corpus Playroom are Cambridge's most vibrant venues, presenting plays, musicals, comedy and more. We are a department of the University of Cambridge

Adc Theatre Description

The ADC Theatre is the liveliest theatre in Cambridge, presenting a vibrant programme of drama, music and comedy.

We are a department of the University of Cambridge, and are the oldest University playhouse in the country. The ADC is the centre of University drama in Cambridge, run almost entirely by students with no Faculty involvement.

We aim to provide opportunities to experience and learn about all aspects of theatre, while presenting professional standard productions. The ADC Theatre has helped to launch the careers of many theatre luminaries, including Sir Ian McKellen, Rachel Weisz and Emma Thompson.

Happy New Year's Eve!
We've had such an exciting year in the ADC. We refurbished the theatre, toured 4 productions to venues around Cambridge, staged 171 shows and welcomed 51,292 audience members through our doors.
Whilst we probably won't remove the roof in 2019, we're looking forward to another fantastic year of theatre!

⭐🎄Christmas Eve! Or more importantly: The final day of ADCvent! We're taking our final trip into the archives! 🎄⭐
We've found this photo of Olivia Colman from a rehearsal room back in the 90s. Anyone know what production this is from? We're currently drawing a blank!

Day 21 of ADCvent is a sad day for us in the theatre. It's our Operations Manager Jack's final day!
We're wishing him the best as he heads off to pastures new.

Not long to go until the big day! It's Day 20 of our ADCvent calendar.
We've been doing a bit of maintenance around the building this past week. We enjoy satisfying cable photos way too much.

It's Day 15 of ADCvent and our final show day of 2018! 🎄
This Autumn season we have produced 72 separate shows in the ADC and Corpus Playroom. We have decided to go out with a bang and mark the occasion with *4* performances of Central School of Ballet's 'The Nutcracker' and a performance of 'What Happened to Tomorrow'.

Happy Day 14 of ADCvent! ⭐
As part of our refurbishment, our Technical Manager built us a new Stage Manager's desk. When he finished working for the theatre in November, we made him a miniature version.
It's very cute.

What a little gem this theatre is! Haven't been for a while but definitely will be going more often. Dogfight was a superb show! I'm sure I will be seeing some of the highly talented cast in the West End before too long! I paid £9 for my senior citizen ticket and gladly gave the optional £2 donation. I had a Pimms for £3 before the show and bought a £2 ice cream at the interval. £2! £2 you've got to be kidding me! All theatres including some in Cambridge charge £3.50 these days! So as a senior citizen who loves the theatre but watches her pennies I commend ADC Theatre for a great night costing £16! Oh and l parked for free on the single yellow line from 6.30 outside Fitzwilliam Museum so didn't have to use the car park!

User

I love going to the ADC theatre. Staff are friendly at the bar and I love sipping on the featured cocktail of the week. Seats in the theatre are comfortable and too cramped either.

User

I have rediscovered the ADC theatre. I'm constantly impressed with the shows I've seen staged by students, local theatre groups and touring productions. The bar is a wonderful place for pre, mid and post production drinks. Certainly not just for students!

User

Small, intimate theatre in a good location in Cambridge. Easy parking, being next to a multi storey car park. Good bar facilities. Very reasonable admission. Seating ok but not really enough leg room if tall. Otherwise very nice venue. Already booked again for another production after really enjoying the play,'Caravan'.
