**DID YOU KNOW...?** Every month ACT invests a staggering £500,000 from gift donations, grants and legacies at Addenbrooke's. 70% of this money comes from patients and donors like you. But we need to be able to do more to be able to fund much needed equipment, facilities, research and care for patients.
Your gifts and donations have helped to fund world-class technology such as: • Robotic surgery for prostate cancer, allowing patients to be home in a day... • Pioneering research into breast cancer, making personalised diagnosis and treatment a reality for patients • Cutting-edge innovation such as the myICUvoice ipad app, which helps critically ill patients communicate with their families and staff • The dramatic improvement of facilities such as the Paediatric Day Unit and Haematology Day Unit, making hospital appointments quicker and more comfortable for patients.
You have helped us do all this. Will you help us do even more?

To all our incredible supporters who help us do so much for patients at Addenbrooke's, we hope you have a very happy Easter!

An 'egg-static' Janet Payler who works in the rheumatology department at Addenbrooke's, won a huge Easter hamper playing ACT’s Easter lucky square game at the Outpatients Fundraising Hub this week. The game raised a 'cracking' £150 for Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals - and we’re not 'yolking'!

Keith Brazier and his wife Lesley have fundraised over £30,000 for Addenbrooke's since Keith underwent a live donor liver transplant in 2013, with his incredible wife Lesley donating part of her liver to him.
Professor Chris Watson, Consultant Transplant Surgeon at Addenbrooke's who appears in the film, said: "This ground-breaking equipment will significantly reduce failed transplants and post transplant complications as well as increase the number of donor livers available f...or transplant."
Their son, Dan made the below film to promote the Brazier's family and friends walking event to raise funds for a liver perfusion machine enabling livers to be tested out before being transplanted. The group will walk from Addenbrookes to Leighton Buzzard over 3 days - the 28th, 29th & 30th June 2019. Please help them in their fundraising if you can at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ke ithandlesleybrazier.

To fully kit out one of these emergency children's ambulances costs £108,000.

Last year Joanne Peacock was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer. Under the care of the urology team at Addenbrooke's, she started an intensive course of chemotherapy over the summer, followed by 10 hours of surgery. Last week, Joanne received the news that she had 'the all clear'.
To say thank you, Joanne organised 'The Strictly Glitter Ball', raising over £4,600 towards refurbishing the urology clinic at Addenbrooke's. The current area, whilst adequate, is t...ired and out-of-date. With the support of fundraising and donations, we can turn this into a much more comfortable and welcoming space for patients.
Consultant Urologist Alex Colquhoun, and Specialist Nurse Nicola Cheale (both pictured) attended Joanne's Ball. "From day one the care and treatment that I received has been second to none. My consultant, surgeon and nurses at Addenbrooke's gave me a reason to stay positive. A total credit to our NHS."

Following two strokes and subsequent complications, Adele Hilton was admitted to the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) at Addenbrooke's where "the staff in the ward did a miracle job in not only keeping her alive, but helped her achieve a full and healthy recovery". After spending 5 weeks in an induced coma, followed by extensive rehabilitation, Adele was finally able to go home, some 3 months after being originally admitted.
Determined to say thank you and give something back,... over the past year Adele has raised a staggering £10,000 by reaching out to her friends and family, hosting fundraising events and securing matched funding from her employer.

Max was born 15 weeks premature alongside his twin brother Charlie, who sadly only lived for a few days. Max spent the next 4 months on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Addenbrooke's due to his early start in life.
As a family, they will always be grateful to the staff at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals for the treatment and incredible compassion shown towards the whole family.
To say thank you, Max sat has set himself the challenge of cycling from London to ...Paris in just 24 hours to raise money for the NICU where the team can continue to provide life-saving care and support for premature babies and their families. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/max-bradyl 2p24

HUGE thanks to Samantha Isaacson (pictured left) for raising over an incredible £40,000 for oncology at Addenbrooke's through the @KickCancerCup and ball since 2015!

We are proud to announce that we have been selected as the official recipient charity for this year’s Chariots of Fire race!
Chariots of Fire Cambridge, organised and managed by Hewitsons Charitable Trust, is one of Cambridgeshire’s largest annual charity events, taking place this year on Sunday 22 September.
Teams of six each run a 1.7 mile course in relay format following in the footsteps of the famous film Chariots of Fire, telling the story of Harold Abrahams, a Cambrid...ge runner, and his bid to win a gold medal in the 1924 Olympics.
This year we need to raise £108,000 for an emergency children's ambulance so that around 1,700 sick children a year will no longer have to rely on a London-based service to transport them to intensive care.
Will you help or sign up?
Visit www.chariots-of-fire.co.uk to sign up and www.act4addenbrookes.org.uk/chariots to find out more about how you can help.

**Strong Soham Mums smash target**
The group of 12 Strong Soham Mums who starred in their own calendar have raised more than £26,000 for charity including £13,205 for Addenbrookes's.
The mums from the Soham area who have all lost a child, came together to create their own naked charity ca lendar late last year.
... The group hoped to raise £5,000 for the Road Victims Trust and Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust but ended up raising more than five times that amount.
Thank you so much ladies - you are helping to make Addenbrooke's incredible for patients.

Addenbrookes kept on giving it their all but unfortunately a truly gentle, kind gent passed away last night. Please spare a moment to remember him with us and think of his family. PSC had seen him have two multi organ transplants in 18 months and he had spent the last 7 months in Addenbrookes. He always remained hopeful, was willing to try whatever the specialists suggested and without any self pitty for tough times PSC had dealt in his life . Without his positivity and friendship l don't think my husband Richard would not be where he is in his PSC journey. His friendship has been most precious. Rest in peace Andrew you will be greatly missed. xxxxxxx

Thank you to all at Addenbrookes for going over and above. Such an amazing team doing there best in such difficult times.
