Afrocentric805 Description
Afrocentric805 is inspired by my passion for sewing and my love for home. Unique Southern African inspired prints and bespoke designs for fashion and soft furnishings in an ethnic style!
I started this project in in memory of my mum who was a fantastic dressmaker. The work she did for us, growing up in our little house ( # 805B /5) back in KweKwe, Zimbabwe and the fact that she left us at a very young age also inspires me to see this project grow into a business I know she would be proud of.
As the name suggest I love everything African and believe there is a lot of design inspiration that can be obtained from the culture and transferred into products that everyone would love no matter where they are from. I love the bold unique prints that ooze with so much attitude and identity that if possible I would like to travel all over Africa to source these.
Together with the experience I have as a qualified Garment Technologist I aim to sell unique products made to a high quality standard. The product range will continue to expand from living room to kitchen, bathroom as well as a few wardrobe essentials.
Sewing is my hobby and I enjoy every single minute I spend on my machine and with a little help from my friends, I wish nothing but success for Afrocentric8-0-5! ! !
