About Agroecosystems

Agroecosystems is an independent farming and environmental advisory and labour support service based in the central Highlands

Agroecosystems Description

An 'agroecosystem' is a unit of agricultural activity, small or large, incorporating all living and non-living components and their interactions. This of course includes, and may be dictated by the human influences.

Agroecosystems Ltd was formed to support farmers in their work to build their economic and ecological sustainability, 'Sustainable' or 'ethical' farming not only has its own place and rewards to individuals, regions and nations but is becoming more and more driven by both regulation and consumerism across Scotland and the rest of the world.

The business is operated by Ali McKnight and has been built on her farming background plus 20 years of experience gained from a combination of farm conservation and business development with FWAG Scotland (Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group), farm management consultancy and ecological survey and monitoring.

Agroecosystems supports croft, farm and estate businesses in every aspect of managing their environment, their natural resources and their businesses to enable wildlife to thrive and build resilience to the elements, to agricultural policy /regulation, to consumer demands and even to labour shortages (by offering labour services and farm-sitting to help you take a break! ).
