The staff is polite.

Had a misunderstanding with them regarding Scottish laws with the holding deposit and references. They mentioned that the landlord has requested that "potential tenant’s use the service LetsXL provide" (they charge £48/reference). The letter had an attachment which mentioned also an option where I can provide my own references for free.

I understood that from both options they would only accept LetsXL. They gave me a call after my initial review clarifying that I can provide my own references.

Other than that, the communication from agency has been great. So am happy.

We get timely help if somethings needs repaired, and they contacted the landlord for me to ok starting my own business for me. They made sure the right insurance was in place for me to be able to get started.

So far, everything has been really positive. Staff are really helpful.

My wife and I found our flat through Albany last year and want to stay with them for as long as we are renting in Edinburgh. The process of agreeing the let was a little different to previous experiences but worth it in the end. They have been quick to respond to all our queries and resolve any issues with minimal fuss.

The flat we chose was the first and only one we viewed with them but we had looked at several other properties listed with other agencies throughout the city and there was no comparison.

The welcome we were given by the agent and the team was second to none and made us choose them. The care, professionalism and attention to detail of their team was what found us not just a flat, but a home.

I have used Albany exclusively for 14 years to find a tenant only as I manage the properties myself. I have always found Albany very good at sourcing a good tenant and providing me with a professional handover service. They do the hard work of sourcing, setting up viewings (including no shows), gathering financial and background checks and signing of all the paperwork and initial deposits and rent so I don't need too. Freeing me to make sure my flats are ready to let.

Stay away awful

Albany has been extremely helpful and responsive throughout the application process, especially considering that I am 4000 miles away and 6 hours behind the UK. In particular, I have been dealing with Claire for the past couple of weeks and she has been FANTASTIC. Very patient with me and answers emails within minutes! She has made the entire process very easy, and I am very much looking forward to my tenancy with them!

We were in a difficult position and under severe time constraints when looking to rent a property in Edinburgh, whilst still living in London.

Luckily, Albany Lettings and Claire Gordon in particular, were very prompt with keeping us updated; from arranging a viewing to the progress of our application and beyond.

Their flexible approach to dealing with prospective tenants and the consideration with regards to the challenges faced by their prospective tenants is frankly refreshing.

The staff has been very nice to us, they're very responsive, and had answers to all of our questions. We'll be looking forward to dealing with Albany during our tenancy.
