Aldi, everyday. Thats how long you spend looking for less common items in their unusual store layouts.

Appart from the competitive prices I've not a whole lot of good to say here. It's a joke, there's no such thing as customer service. Due to the fact that for numerous staff, English is not their 1st language. In many cases I think for working with people in the U.K. good English is a priority. Especially interacting with customers.
A matter of days ago, the staff member I'd approached for help did not comprehend the problem that had arisen. She misunderstood what I was saying and to cut a long story short I walked out the store without carpet cleaner and a x4 pk of blueberry muffins.....of which I'd paid for! The worst of it was other staff witnessed how the lady had dealt with the situation and turned a blind eye.
Very disappointed. The stock is never in any sort of order. They seem to have never heard of stock rotation? Which is actually beneficial as the best dates are at the front.
Many items in the store are very high up, quite often the staff have to use a step to reach. That's when you can get a hold of any staff, it's a rarity.
In fairness there's a selection of many (household/non grocery items) and you can get some really great buys.....you have to hunt a little and check the pricing carefully as it can be disorganised, which is more likely to be customers having a rummage.
There's consistently metal cages with empty packaging/ cardboard etc, placed on the shop floor. Not only consuming room for customers to get around the store but blocking in items making it unobtainable to retrieve items behind. The cages are large and heavy to use.
There's no time at all to pack your bags whilst being served or any room for that matter. Staff scan items far too fast.
I'd not recommend shopping here for any elderly or infitm due to height of items and the pace they scan items at the checkout.

Well organised shop. Good election of butcher meats and tinned produced. Also good for home wear and cheap clothes

Signposting could be improved. Prices excellent. +1 for a customer toilet. Good range of goods

A bit quieter than Gorgie Road branch but still has the open shut open shut on repeat play. I can just about cope with noise levels in this Aldi. I am debating which is noisier Asda self service or Aldi's. Being quieter is mostly due to less customers but staff are OK and don't take offence if you point out an issue

Healthy fresh produce. Good quality, quick and no hassle. Nice staff.

User

Great value place to shop but sadly some times fruit and veg freshness isn't the best 50% of the time

Having been disheartened by a number of Aldi Stores this store is excellent. Sometimes the shelf availability can be poor, especially with fresh produce but other items too are often out of stock. Generally speaking the store is well stocked, tidy, very clean and the staff are polite and helpful. The tills can be quite busy at times but the store open the others quickly when required. Enjoy shopping here during the week at evenings as it is quiet but try to avoid at busy weekends!

Friendly staff. Well stocked and clean. Can be busy - bit of a wait at the tills at times.

Slightly worse products for slightly better prices.

User

It's not usually too busy, and just the building is bright and airy.
Has plenty trolleys including the type with two child seats - unlike the one in Gorgie.
Being larger, it takes a bit longer to get around.
Annoyingly, it has odd number of aisles, so as you snake up and down, through the shop, you end up in the corner furthest away from the checkouts.

Get yourself down to here. The savings are huge and nothing wrong the the food and drink. Good quality at a good price.

User

Not massively dissimiliar to size and range to the nearby Aldi in Gorgie. I would say this one is perhaps slightly larger and feels a bit more relaxed? I've found there have been more tills open and less rush in getting through them when I've visited. You can pick up some good bargains in Aldi, although its lacking in branded products, and theres usually a few items on my list I'll have to go to another store for.
