Alsorts Arts & Crafts was started up last year after I became ill with breast cancer. I was confined to the sofa for a large amount of time due to fatigue and sickness but I got bored. . . . VERY bored! So what could I do?? I cannot knit to save my life. . . the stitches get tighter and tighter as I go on, didnt matter what I did : ( So I decided to try crochet, You Tube there I went lol! ! Taught myself by watching videos online and making a LOT of mistakes! ! (Who knew there were US and UK crochet stitches. . . . ) but I finally had something to keep my mind off feeling sick!

Now I used to paint when I was much younger (even qualified for Glasgow Art School) but then life got in the way so I stopped, except for a few pressies every so often, The I was asked by my best pal to do some designs in her daughters bedroom. . . and then their bathroom and finally their kitchen and they really liked them! ! this gave me back my confidence and now I have rediscovered my enjoyment of painting.

My style of painting and crochet is slightly mad and nutty (just like me) and I am always looking to try new things (I have just bought a felting kit and am looking at clock innards too lol! )

I recently started to engrave glass too, by hand. . . . using diamond tipped drill bits and a multi tool for power. It is so much fun!
