Alternatives is an unusual place. We opened at our present location, in 2004 as an offshoot of my husbands acupuncture clinic, which operates on the lower level of the premises.

In the beginning we sold items to complement the clinic, i. e. herbal remedies, vitamins, minerals and so on and, as the business grew, we branched out and now carry health and beauty products, giftware, jewellery, luxury bath items, and silk products from the far east.

Gift baskets can be made up to order. Customers can choose the products they would like included from our extensive range and we will make them up into a beautifully wrapped basket for a minimal charge.

As my husband is a bagpiper, we also carry some items for pipers, such as, a wide selection of practice chanters, practice chanter reeds, bagpipe chanter reeds, drone reeds, waxed hemp, beeswax, Glengarry bonnets, Balmoral bonnets, bag covers, and, from time to time, used bagpipes. We also act as an agent for Dunfion Bagpipes.
