As we get ready to cover the amazing European Championships at The SSE Hydro, we thought we would share some top #FirstAid tips from our team.
Sprains and strains are very common in sport but do you know how to handle them?
... REST - Encourage the casualty to sit or lie down. ICE - Apply a cold compress to the affected area. COMFORTABLE SUPPORT - Continue to ice and support the affected limb however the casualty feels most comfortable. This may be applying a light support bandage. ELEVATE - Raise the affected limb to aid comfort and ease swelling.
Remember to seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

Hot weather can be a common trigger for asthma sufferers.
- In the event of an asthma attack, reassure your casualty and ask them to sit down.
- Encourage them to use their reliever inhaler, as advised.
- If the attack is serious or there is no relief from the inhaler seek urgent medical aid. 🚑🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
In an emergency call 999 or, if at an event, seek immediate medical assistance from medical staff.
