Lovely, cosy pub. Dog friendly. Food well presented, large portions and very tasty. Highly recommend

It's a warm, friendly place , the staff are welcoming and helpful. Reasonably priced, great Scottish breakfast, in a gorgeous setting, what more could you want? I loved it, and will definitely return, thoroughly recommended.

The Anchor Hotel and Pub has excellent food. They have a wide variety of different items and lots of atmosphere. We went twice for dinner since it was so good.

Not good. The pub looks ok from the outside but the minute you enter it is dark and gloomy. The bar man was very abrupt and had it not been late for lunch we would have gone somewhere else. The location is absolutely gorgeous but what a missed opportunity!!!
There were lots if dishes on the specials board. Too much variety for a small local pub and the prices were much too high. We ordered after being told sharply that we couldn't have a tab until we had a table number. There was no one else eating there!
The food arrived quite promptly and looked pleasant, however on digging deeper the lettuce was on its last legs and the coleslaw and chips were not home made which they should have been at that price. On reflection we're pretty sure we were over charged so - never again. What a pity!

What a lovely harbour village... pub/hotel in an excellent location over looking the estuary. Food and beer were lovely.

Good food, reasonably priced in good sized portions. Very friendly and helpful staff and child friendly too. We come on holiday to Kippford every year and always eat in The Anchor at least once or twice during the week. The kids menu has plenty of options to keep all kids happy, and also is served in decent sized portions.

Great place to sit in the sun and eat good food. Situated right on the sea front so has great views. Friendly staff, extensive menu and great surroundings.
