Andrew Hilland For Lanark And Hamilton East
Reviews
The next leader of the Labour Party must be radical, credible, principled, experienced, bold, forward-looking and committed to protecting human rights both at home and abroad.
Keir Starmer is all of those things — and I’m proud to support him.

I want to thank each and every one of the 10,736 people who voted Labour in Lanark and Hamilton East yesterday.
I also want to thank our activists who have campaigned relentlessly over the last six weeks. I have never been more proud to have been part of a team than I am to be part of this one.
I am bitterly disappointed by last night’s result — and for what it means for the country.
... But I still believe in the Labour Party. A Labour Party that is rooted in and relatable to working class communities. A Labour Party that stands for human rights, economic opportunity and social justice. A Labour Party that champions solidarity both within and between nations.
And fighting for what you believe in is always worth it.

This election presents a straight choice: a Tory government that will sell the NHS to Donald Trump, or a Labour government that will invest in its future.

Brilliant to check in with the team at our Larkhall headquarters.
With the SNP vote in Lanark and Hamilton East collapsing, one thing is clear: the only way to defeat Boris Johnson and the Tories is to #VoteLabour
Over 1,000 young people in Lanark and Hamilton East will be voting for the first time today, and many of them will be supporting Labour.
That's because only the Labour Party is offering a chance to remain in the EU, real action on the climate crisis, free superfast broadband, regulation of the private rental sector, a £10 minimum wage and an end to zero hours contracts.
Here's a young person I met at the youth climate strike on why this election is so important and why he will be voting Labour.
Loads of support for Labour in Carluke!
Early start for the family to vote in Lanark this morning.

Fantastic response for Labour in Larkhall today.
I’d like to thank everyone in #LanarkHamiltonEast who took the time to speak with us during this campaign. It’s what makes being a candidate so special.
Now let’s bring this thing home.

Tomorrow, we’re going to run the biggest Get Out The Vote operation Lanark and Hamilton East has ever seen.
Having spoken with thousands of voters over the last six weeks, we know we can win here — but we need your help.
If you can assist us in any way — by knocking doors, delivering leaflets or giving lifts to the polling station — please report to one of our campaign centres (in Lanark, Carluke, Larkhall and Hamilton) anytime from 9am.
... Together, we can make Lanark and Hamilton East a #LabourGain.

It was great to speak with TLDR News UK for their video on Scotland’s place in the United Kingdom.

I’m proud to have worked on the Global Citizenship Commission, which sought to renew the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for the 21st Century.
This #HumanRightsDay, we should reflect on the work that’s yet to be done.

With the SNP vote in Lanark and Hamilton East collapsing, it’s clear that only Labour can defeat Boris Johnson and the Tories in this seat - and bring about the real change our country needs.
