all courses are suitable for beginners or those that have sailed before adults and children all welcome

Great new initiative with our friends from Solway Yacht Club . The first Powerboat improver course took place today as a joint venture between the two clubs. Please take the opportunity to register for future dates... There is always something to learn. The Powerboat improver courses will culminate in a joint Safety Boat course in March 2020.

Oppie club will be on tomorrow (Tuesday 23 April) night open to all sailors regardless of experience. We cannot promise a sail but we will do our best to get out.
It will be an evening of getting to know each other and find our way round the boats.

Afternoon folks a reminder about the Oppie Club taster sessions for the next two days
1000-1500 Monday 15th April and Tuesday 16 April
Tomorrow we will be checking and preparing all the boats so we may not get sailing but there will be lots of soap and water for boat cleaning!
... On Tuesday the plan is to get some sailing in and maybe go on a wee adventure sail across the loch

Great night at Oppie Club on Tuesday night. I forgot to take the photo with everyone in oops!
Some folk could not make it because of the hail and a crash on the A709 so here is the plan for this years Oppie Club
On Monday 15 April and 16 April we will be running boat prep and sailing days.
... 1000-1500 on each day with the aim of spending the Monday checking all the boats and sails and the Tuesday, Sailing. Everyone welcome including sailors and parents. Bring a packed lunch!
Sailors if your responsible adult cannot make it then that's fine you can look after the helpers instead!
Oppie Club proper will start on 30 April and this season will be in two parts
The First Group will be a pre booked 6 week learning group aimed at folks who want to get going with their sailing.
Cost £43 for non members and £33 for members This includes all six sessions, your boat hire, coaching by Alexander Noble and Joseph Robertson and your own Optimist Log Book.
For everyone who can already sail round a triangle we are going to have fun racing. Even the parents can help us get the course sorted and then we will have loads of fun getting round a course with some coaching and show any adult sailors that turn up how to sail!!
If you want to join in but still need some coaching in Alex and Joseph's group first that fine. Still turn up get booked onto the next 6 week session and help us with the flags and toots so you are ready when the next coaching session starts.
