Annavale Shetland Sheep

Annavale Bellamosum is the most judgmental sheep I own - she will look strangers up and down to assess their suitability for being spoken to. Caught this snap of her in the field - captions welcome!

Really delighted with this mornings arrival, a ewe lamb out of Annavale Asha (Rigg Apache ex Stoneheap Ishri). This one brings something slightly different to the party as she is by Brae Marlin whom I was privileged to be able to borrow from Suzanne Meikle at Brae Flock Shetland Sheep last Autumn. He is sired by the GYS Champion of 2017, Greenacre Crawford and out of a Rench Myrtle 2nd daughter, Brae Madeira.

Really thrilled with these two new arrivals: twin ewe lamb out of Stoneheap Ianthe (Rench Murray ex Rench Ivory), who is doing a super job so far! These are by Morven Macfarlane’s Stoneheap Bambi (Rench Murray ex Stoneheap Delphi).
Lovely day for them to arrive too - dry, clear and 11 degrees! 🌞

Surprise arrivals this morning - two beautiful ewe lambs out of our Stoneheap Amelie and sired by our Annavale Banquo (Best lamb RHS 2018).

This chap made his way into the world yesterday evening. Not the smallest, his mother did a great job and he was up on his feet and feeding in no time. Welcome to the world 2019 #1!

Stoneheap Amelie (StBaldred’s Neville ex Tsunami Dulcie) is getting a bit fed up of being so fat and in-lamb...a week or so to go now 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Annavale Shetland Sheep are all settled at Carlisle in anticipation of the SSS National Show and Sale tomorrow. We have one ram lamb, two ginmers and one aged ewe going under the hammer. Not sure what we might bring home though...! 😉 Thanks to Gosford Bothy Farm Shop, Butchery & Cafe for the Hay Bags our sheep are enjoying feeding from!
