That's enough about In Burrows! There's loadsa awesome stuff on and we can't wait to catch:
'Nothing But The Gallows' - Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir is a fab director & writer. Come see her good self at the helm of Ben Blow's new play, performed by the Annexe Rep Company.
'Everyone Keeps Broken Pens' - Heard great things about Kate Mayne's solo. As someone with a fair share of intrusive thoughts it is great to see work about this, opening up those conversations.
... 'Sob Story' - Pretty Knickers Productions' staging of a 'Yorkshire's Got Talent' made a bit of a buzz at the Fringe. Catch this while you can.
That's just the few that we've heard a few snippets about. There's also new work from: As It Is theatre company (Food Bank 2019), Lubna Kerr (Where Are You Really From?), GAG (Beast), Michael Daviot (Sherlock Holmes: The Final Reckoning), Some Kind of Theatre (A Note of Explanation), Strawmoddie (Foxgloves) and Typecast Productions (Ganymede). Plus more work from the Annexe Rep in the shape of 'Letters to the End of the World'.
It's all online at https://www.assemblyfestival.com/roxy/wha ts-on.
Take a look!

That's us - we're In Burrows. We're improvised, quiet and a bit of a slow-burner. Engaging, mysterious, funny and moving - that's us (we hope).

Another year on we're bringing In Burrows to #FormationFestival. We've stripped the show back a little to make it suitable for touring, and Andy has been training as an audio describer in the meantime (qualification pending!). We're excited to share the results with you, if you fancy it.
Want to know more, check out our trailer. We tell you a bit about the show and show you how it works.

In Burrows - in hour long, full form - premiered at Tron Theatre in March 2018.

'Vivid, Tender, Intimate, Funny, Poignant’... ‘Pensive, Engaging, Slow, Easy, Rich’ ‘Eye-opening, Interesting, Informative, Beautiful’ ‘Illuminating, Affective, Funny, Interesting, Moving’
Here's a few snaps, taken by Julia Bauer.
The full team:
Alex Fernandes - Lighting Design Paul Hughes - Dramaturgy Amy McKenzie - Stage Management Cairan McLaggan - Producer
Blair Coron - Supported Artist Petre Dobre - Supported Artist Adriana Navarro Ballesteros - Supported Artist

A year later, In Burrows became a duet. Amy, a British Sign Language interpreter with experience in stage performance, joined the language party.
A small piece of work rapidly grew into something more knotty and complicated about translation.
Here's an early rehearsal snippet (apologies for the dodgy sound) from sometime in January 2018.

We're In Burrows! We started off life as a ten minute short - the simplest piece of work Andy could make in his living room, that didn't require obnoxious levels of furniture moving. Andy would ask for a 6x4 photograph from the venue he performed in, open it for the first time on stage, and then describe it to the audience in an improvised poem.
This version was performed at scratch nights across the UK - here is it at Tron Theatre's 'Outside Eyes'.
A development blog has bee...n kept all the way through, which is pretty much a huge mess but if you like a mess, then you'll love this: www.inburrows.tumblr.com

So now you're suitably intrigued about Foxgloves, please come along on the 1st-3rd of March at 6.30pm in The Assembly Roxy.
Oh and how do you combat a supernatural possession? The answers, of course, will be revealed during the show...tickets available now!
