About Antojitos

Antojitos is a fiercely independent, award winning, and plant based, street food brand formed in Scotland in the middle of the 2020 pandemic. After going vegetarian a year earlier, founder and director John was frustrated at the veggie and vegan options offered at his favourite Mexican restaurants - so he did it himself. With a pandemic to contend with, year one wasn't easy. It wasn't helped when the food truck that Antojitos called home was involved in an accident. But we persevered, trading from a gazebo and doing pop ups wherever we could. In late June 2021, Antojitos was trading at The Pitt for the annual Scottish Street Food Awards, with fourteen of Scotlands best street food vendors. Two of our signature dishes, the Seitan Barbacoa Quesadilla and Beer Battered Banana Blossom Tacos, wowed the judges and Antojitos finished the weekend as the overall champions and judges choice. We went full time overnight, and haven't looked back since. Antojitos trades as the Kitchen in Residence at The Dog House on Clerk St, Edinburgh, serving 1-9 7 days a week. You can find Antojitos at pop ups, street food fayres, vegan markets, festivals and events all over the UK.
