Apex Grassmarket Hotel

Expensive, poor service and no air con! When we stayed (Oct / Nov 17) there was ongoing renovation work which we were not informed of when we booked. One lift was out of action leaving just one working lift. Steps upto reception means you struggle with luggage and prams and the hotel should be avoided if you use a wheel chair! 😕

Nice location if not a little busy and noisy. Very friendly staff. Great room, very clean.

My 5th visit over a number of years. Sadly this hotel has gone downhill and is looking tired.

Great location.This used to be great value for money but sadly no longer.

It's in a good spot for exploring the city, the rooms are fine and clean. Breakfast service is excellent. It's undergoing refurbishment so felt the price was excessive and the reception administration was very poor, despite assurances to the contrary the one of our rooms was charged to the wrong card, no invoice or receipt provided. Please check your bill.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. For being so close to the Royal Mile I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonability of the cost. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful view of Grassmarket and the Castle. We experienced great service as well as good food. We would definitely stay here again if we ever get back to Scotland.

Small but nice rooms. Staff are nice. Bar is nice and quiet clean and open late. Good food.

Excellent location, average hotel, bit expensive. Location is really good but our room is a bit tired considering the price. Only one lift in service for the whole weekend. Room didn't get cleaned until around 4:30, which after a hard day sightseeing so come back to unmaid beds is quite disappointing. Asked for a couple of extra mugs which didn't turn up. Pool and sauna are nice.

Clean, warm room with a beautiful view of the castle. Friendly and helpful staff and a good location for access to the famous areas of the city

Nice room with amazing view of the castle. Really well placed for tourist attractions. Fixtures could have been better, cupboard doors didn't close properly, despite that, would stay again.
