Hipster style place with style over substance selling 'artisan' sandwiches. Typical pseudo rustic decor. The service needs to get it's act together. We ordered coffee and sandwiches and the sandwiches arrived 30mins after the coffee, wasn't even anything to cook and the place wasn't busy with plenty of staff on so no excuses. Menu is very limited as well. When the food did arrive it was nice but not worth the wait.

The burgers were fresh but the buns were cold. The sides that comes with burgers is sweet popcorn which does not fully makes sense. Good place for hot drinks.

Really lovely stop for coffee and a twist on the usual cafe menu. We were in later on in afternoon and I think the staff had had a busy shift. They forgot to give us cutlery or check if we had everything we needed. The meal was really good.

I loved the quirkiness of the place and the music, the map on the wall etc. We only had two coffees: flat white and a mocha, but we couldn't feel the strength of the coffee at all, they felt more like milk rather than coffee. I wouldn't go back for milk-related coffee

Terrible experience in this Eating Place. Went from BAD to WORSE!! Should have read the signs.
Also would expect better for the prices they charge.
Arrived only 2 other customers in and they left after only eating half their food.
Not made welcome when we arrived told in an unfriendly manner to take a seat and come up and place our order at the counter when ready. Ordered the Meat Platter which was supposed to be a SELECTION of meats and cheeses olives salad and crusty bread was told because we wanted to have our meal outside it would be served on paper plates WHAT!! been to loads of eating places and never been told to eat from paper plates and cups. The food arrived and was a few small slices of Salami 1 and a half slices of Camembert Cheese (yuk) a few salad leaves olives and coleslaw served on a child's size paper plate did not get crusty bread as stated on the menu. Refused the meal informing I expected ham and selection of cheese like cheddar etc as Camembert Cheese is not everyone's liking. If it had stated on the menu it was Salami and Camembert I never would have ordered it. She agreed to change it and give me ham and cheddar cheese and I happily accepted this but to my shock when she returned there was only a few slices of ham a few slices of cheese and a few salad leaves she had removed the olives and coleslaw. Informed her I still wanted the olives and everything else that was supposed to come with it. Including the crusty bread which I was never offered. She was quite rude and obviously annoyed as I was complaining again. Told her not to bother I would just have a sandwich instead. Just then a VERY RUDE man came over saying he was the owner. I explained to him I was not happy with the food or the service and I did not get what was stated on the menu he was argumentative and was extremely rude saying I would be better going to Greggs or McDonalds!! He was very Demeaning insinuating I was not good enough for his Eating Place and that Greggs and McDonalds were of a lower class. I said I would much prefer to go to Greggs or McDonalds and asked for a refund. In a very rude manner he refused to give me a refund and told me to leave. I said I was not leaving until I got my money back at this point in an aggressive manner he grabbed my food and drink from under me and ORDERED me to leave. It was not until he saw me phoning the police he grudgingly gave me a refund. I have never experienced service like this in my life to be spoken to in such a demeaning manner by a business owner! rubbish food and service and having to eat from paper plates. I will of course be making an official complaint to Trading Standards. This owner definetly needs to brush up on his "customer is always right" skills. Maybe some anger management would benefit him also. Will definetly NOT return to this place and would NOT recommend this to anyone. Was in Callander on holiday and it is such a beautiful place with lovely shops and restaurants all with a friendly welcoming atmosphere but sadly this terrible experience at Applejacks will make me reluctant to return to Callander. This was a horrible end to a great holiday in Callander.

Sweetly quirky cafe. Amazing scotch pancakes, swimming in maple syrup, and the cake selection is excellent. Seats a bit uncomfortable, but ok for a short visit.

Good food.. one member of staff needs to be trained in customer service.. tried to plam an old fiver to three customers in our short visit. And handled it in an appalling manner... it was not the poor girl on the front counters fault... we reckon she been told to do it.

Now I really liked this place, which was recommended to us by friends. OK so an American style food cafe might seem out of character for the area, but it works with the quirky interior. I rarely give 5 stars, but I genuinely loved this place.

This is a light bite cafe, which is ideal if you want a nice lunch with a quick turnaround.

The cafe isn't huge and is clealy popular, but even though we were a party of 8 they did their best to seat us without too much waiting ( a chance to read the menu).

The menu is quite broad for a small cafe and I was impressed with the quality of the food and the serving time; delivered by fast moving happy staff, especially the 'main' lady who checked all was good with us and apologised that my wife's omelette was slightly late.

Lovely place with good food and service. Little overpriced but as much as almost every coffeshop in the UK, so I don't care. I loved it.
