Architectural Services is run by Colin Findlay, an Architectural Technologist with 25 years experience based in Prestonpans, East Lothian.
We offer fixed cost Architectural Services in Edinburgh, Lothian and Borders and further afield.
Architectural Services can work with you to secure your Planning Consent or Building Warrant for your project whatever its scale.

Our typical service would involve the following stages :
1. Initial meeting to discuss clients brief and budget, carry out measurement and photographic survey of property.
2. Prepare outline sketch proposals based on clients brief and agree final design. Itemise fees for client approval and also advise of any sensitive planning issues.
3. Prepare detailed drawings and submit to Local Authority Planning and Building Control Departments.
Engage Structural Engineers services.
4. Liaise with the authorities through to granting of Planning Consent and Building Warrant.
5. Liaise with Engineer and Builder as required and provide copies of all necessary contract drawings.
6. Assist in obtaining final completion certificate.

We use industry standard drafting software (Autocad) in order produce high quality dimensionally accurate coloured drawings which can be plotted with our A1 colour plotters or transmitted to clients, consultants or Local Authorities via email in Adobe PDF format.
