About Archway

Archway is an Aberdeen based local charity providing care and support for children and adults with learning disabilities from across the North-east of Scotland. Archway was founded in 1986 by a group of parents of children with learning disabilities and continues to be a parent-led organisation who prides itself on providing personalised, needs-led care and support across all of its services. Archway has gone on to successfully support hundreds of children and adults with learning disabilities and their families over the last 30 years. Archway provides a range of community based services which include permanent care and respite care. We currently support nearly 200 children and adults with learning disabilities and their families. In 2018 we opened our first Archway Charity Shop on Rosemount Place. The purpose of the shop is to raise funds, raise the profile of Archway and our services and to provide other opportunities within the shop as they may arise, such as supported work placements. In 2018 we also started supporting the 7 till 9 social club for adults with learning disabilities.
