Arj Building Services

We have recently used ARJ for an extension and loft conversion to our home and have been very pleased with the work they carried out. The project involved extending a lower room to be a large kitchen / dining room, changing the kitchen location, altering the lower floor and stair layout including installation of a new staircase, and creating three new rooms upstairs including two with new dormer windows. A new bathroom and shower room were installed, and overall, ARJ arranged and co-ordinated the final planning, building, joinery, plumbing, electrical and plastering work for the renovation.

Throughout the project we were kept informed and involved with the work, and were free to visit the site to view as and when we wished. ARJ made a number of suggested amendments to the original plans as we went through the project and were happy to discuss whether or not to implement these as the work progressed.

Overall, we were pleased with the work carried out by ARJ, which was within budget and the timescales initially agreed, and would be happy to recommend them for similar projects – we would certainly look to use them again if we were going to carry out any renovations in the future.

Work Completed:
Kitchen and Dining Room converted as one and part of garage converted into a Utility room, adjoining to the newly created kitchen/diner area.

From the very first meeting with Shane from ARJ building, we both felt very comfortable with his company taking our project forward. We found Shane's approach to the whole project very refreshing. He is constantly conscious of the customer values as is also his workforce, which unfortunately is not present with many companies nowadays.

We are really pleased with all aspects of the work completed and can safely say we were so glad we made the decision to use ARJ Builders. The project was completed on time and within budget.

We will definately use them again.

ARJ Builders completed the structural engineering drawings design service, and sorted out our Edinburgh building warrant and planning applications for our loft conversion and new kitchen extension which was built over the summer 2008.Their tradesmen worked efficiently and diligently and consulted us through the build as issues arose.We are completely happy with the end product and are enjoying the new living space.

We used ARJ to convert our loft and extend our kitchen in 2007.The owner shane managed all the trades throughout the build which lasted about 4 months. I remember being surprised by the speed the build went on and the quality of the workmanship involved. Any changes we requested were dealt with in an efficient manner and all was costed so our budget didn't get blown.We will use them again on our next projects as we have learned that high quality at a reasonable cost is difficult to find.All in all we would say arj builders are a very good company and tick all the boxes.
