I have used Arnold Clark 3 times in 6 years for 3 different cars. Every time I have had issues with the cars and after sales. One had a spare tyre missing and a full service history was just past MOTs. The second had a massive fuel leak the day after I picked it up resulting in me being without a car for 2 weeks. I was told they would get me a courtesy car as I was commuting 150 miles a day for work, but when I turned up I was told they don't do that so I was out of pocket for those two weeks travel. Now the latest problem...

I bought a 11 month old BMW 1 Series from this location in April 2015. When I picked it up the bumper had a massive scrape and needed to be repaired - it is clearly visible.

Salesman told me he would double check the notes for the car. He came back and said it arrived like that and was meant to be fixed before I came for it but he would book the car in for repair and get back to me. That was back in April 2015... I am STILL waiting for them to pull the finger out and repair the bumper.

I have called numerous times since April 2015 to no avail constantly being told that the garage will book me in and let me know when to bring the car down. Can someone at Arnold Clark please get back to me and finally fix this issue!

I'll update this review IF Arnold Clark ever start caring.

Update: July 2017 and still waiting for it to be fixed!

Update: October 2017. No one at Arnold Clark has ever returned my phone calls. Even though social media team and customer service team told me the Manager would be in touch with me. I have since traded the car in with Peter Vardy BMW across the road which has been night and day compared to Arnold Clark.

In the end I have been financially stung twice because of this one problem. I paid full price for a damaged car and then had the trade in value lowered due to this damage. So thanks for that!

I will now be avoiding Arnold Clark for all future purchases.

Tried to sell my car there, but the quote agreed was not honoured when I came for the appointment. £9500 suddenly became £9221 with no explanation other than "that's what the computer says today". Completely unacceptable! I got a much better price just down the street.

So far so good. Picked up my skoda superb last month.
Nothing bad to report. Enjoying the car massively.
Malcolm and the shop manager were very helpful and made me feel very welcome. They have been in touch to make sure everything is going well with the car which is a nice reassurance.
Malcolm also stayed behind an hour after he had finished as i was running late, as he said he would be there when i come to pick the car up. Top guy!

Spotted a lot of bad reviews on here already. From my recent experience, the staff were pleasant, attentive and not overly pushy. Ross Hunter dealt with me. He definitely wanted to make the sale, but sure.... that's his job!... and in my opinion, he did it well. Great communication via telephone and email. He was polite, easy to deal with and made sure that I knew all the options in front of me. Decent service all round.

Very rude staff who treat you based on your appearance. Was treated like an idiot when I asked for something reasonably fast with decent mpg. The sales man said they only sell family cars, "nothing boy racer" and I was told I should buy a car at auction. I hadn't even told him my budget, but he obviously assumed I was poor because I wasn't wearing a suit. Later checking their website I found a DS3 sport that went from 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. Seems reasonably fast to me. Their loss as they have lost a sale there.
