Would not return to Arnold Clark Livingston again. I was a first time car buyer and treated as if I should know the process of buying a car. The sales man forgot documents which I had to provide to get finance for the car which prolonged the whole process. Was told the damage which was on the car I was buying would be all fixed by the time I collected it however it was not and took a further two weeks to get fixed. Even when I finally took It to get fixed they told me it would be all done in that day however were wrong and another appointment a week later had to be made. Over all wasn't a smooth stress free process like it should be and not what I expected my first experience of buying a car to be like.

If you want lied too fobbed off and made to feel like you threw your money away then this the place for you. They will tell you anything to get a sale then abandon you if there's a problem. I've bought several cars from AC over the years and never had any problems but this lot in Livingston are a different breed. The service is awful and the arrogance of the sales team is one of " get stuffed attitude". Buy anywhere except here!!.

Shocking customer experience at Livingston branch, failing to deliver on promises in several instances. Suggest management and staff refresh their understanding of the companies treating customer fairly principles and mission statement.

Was sold a brand new corsa limited edition from Arnold Clark , i took delivery approx 12 days later and was surprised the interior was dirty, number plates were squint and the windows had a oily glazed on the inside. The number plates we're straightened up by a sales man who had removed one screw then proceeded to drill another hole in the new bumper. He then carried out the same sequence with the rear number plate. We then waited another 30 mins on another sales man attempting to clean the interior window with a dirty cloth. I returned home with the car and all 3 keys, to my suprise the gloss looking master key did not unlock the car or start the car, the windows were even dirtier next day when it was sunny. We returned to the depot a day later and the valeter cleaned the car inside and out. I was still bothering me about the number plates so i removed the one screw on the front plate to take a picture and to my suprise there was 3 holes within the reinforsement area designed to take the plate. I then chcked the other side which again had 3 holes as did the rear plate. Alarm bells wer enow ringing so we have a dirty car and 12 holes behind the number plates instead of 4. I brought this to there attention ( Branch Manager) who said it has had other pre deliver plates on before. I was fortunate enough to have taken a picture of the new corsa the sales man sold me which still had the new car sticker on the windscreen and the plastic seat covers.. on the sticker there was a chassis number so i checked this with the car they supplied me . The car was a used (delivery milage) car from stock and another forecourt. I brought all this to the general managers attention and complained to customer services who both said this is the car you bought and signed for, who check chassis number on supposedly new cars before signing. Complete con men , please spread the word and stay away from Arnold Clark.

Car passed Mot? Then after taking it to an MOT tester within a week and he stated that the so called advisory's he never herd of and that they were fails not slightly fails. steering was knocking hence checking out with mot tester again. The mot tester stated he would have failed this and it should never have passed. Then Arnold Clark' mot tester said and yes get a laugh, they said it's up to our discretion , they are now mot gods and its up to their in house mot guys? They said book it in for Monday but we are doing nothing to the car? So the car was just going for a friendly visit. service staff rude and no mechanical knowledge but know all the facts on Mot's? New mot tester said the advisory's are made up as he has no knowledge of wheel bears being slightly worn, its not in the check sheets and also they stated hub bearing? what's that he said? And top strut mounting was sized not as they stated slightly worn also? Was told no advisory's but went home yes i know then checked mot to find out their was and also only one Key? It just so happens any advisory's don't have to be fixed by them? What a coincidence.

As a person with no previous knowledge. I bought my first car from here. after purchase I gained knowledge on how to maintain a car and realized I was sold a car with:

1). engine rattle, one of the gears that holds the timing belt was bad.
2). bad rear breaks. I suffered a squeeking noise a few weeks after purchase and grinding noise a few months after purchase towards the rear of the vehicle due to a change In breaks being needed.
3). Head gasket failure hidden with some sort of temporary sealant.

these problems were noticed months after purchase as I said I had no previous knowledge but Arnold clark. regardless what store, is a very conniving and sneaky company. Avoid unless you know what you are doing.

total these repairs cost over 1000 pounds which I had to have done on top of buying the car

Shopping around for a car for my son. Popped in to Arnold Clark Livingston. Not really optimistic about finding the car we wanted. Alex Crummie was the sales guy. Alex was professional, helpful, competent and friendly with a decent dash of a sense of humour thrown in. Explained everything very clearly. Calm and relaxed in his approach. Made sure my son understood what he was signing. Took him out for a test drive. Went very smoothly. Bought a brand new car. Monthly payments at a reasonable cost. Lots of extras thrown in so worry-free motoring. And the option to trade in for new or buy back after 4 years. What's not to like? No wonder it's a busy place. Oh and really appreciated the Sales Manager, also Alex, introducing himself when we arrived and also thanking us as we left. Also the offer of tea, coffee or water. Nice touches. Slick operation, Slick team. Slick service. Thanks to all.

Great value and great service. I have rented car from this place and drop it off in Edinburgh Seafield without extra charge. Car that they offered me was brand new Corsa. So I like it and definitely will use their services again.
