Avril Paton's inspiration to paint...... Windows In The West On January 11th 1993 at about 5:30pm, there came a sudden heavy blizzard. In ten minutes it was over and the view from the attic window at Athole Gardens overlooking Saltoun Street was transformed. The lilac pink sky, the lit windows, the clarity of whiteness where there had been darkness - it was magic. By morning all the snow had gone and the effect was never to be repeated during that winter.
This building is uncommon in that many of the occupants work at home, often beyond office hours. That factor combined with the goodly number of children, young persons and sociable adults living there, gives the place a very lively appearance, particularly on a winters evening before curtains are drawn and children sent to bed.

We get frequent requests to provide "rough estimates" for framing but this is something we cannot provide over the internet. There are many factors and options including frame, glass, edge mounting which can affect the final price. This is why we cannot provide quotes over the internet. We are more than happy to help provide prices for pictures advertised on our page our in-store, but please respect that we cannot provide framing quotes online.

What a joy to visit this little art gallery and framer. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the framing service is second to none in Ayrshire. The staff take all the time you need to choose a frame and offer their opinion and advice readily. The resulting frame brings the best out on your artwork and the finish is perfect. This is a wee gem in Hamilton Street, and once you have visited you will want to go again and again.

Put a print in to get framed for my husband's birthday , service was amazing helped me choose what would look good and ready to pick up in two days , thank you so much .

Put 4 cross stitches in to get framed and I am absolutely delighted with the result. I would highly recommend Art N Joy to anybody and have will be through with more cross stitches to get framed

Ive purchased a few beautiful pictures from here and i couldnt be happier they take pride in my hall and i would buy more

I've just had 6 pictures framed and am very pleased with the results. Put my pictures in on Thursday and got them back on Monday! Staff very helpful. Will certainly go back to have more done! Thank you!
