About Aru Amnesty International Society

Your ARU Amnesty group is here to join in the struggle for the human rights movement through political action and to support Amnesty International.

Aru Amnesty International Society Description

Amnesty International is the world’s largest human rights organisation taking action across the world with the aim to "conduct research and generate action to prevent and end grave abuses of human rights, and to demand justice for those whose rights have been violated. "

As an organisation, Amnesty does not claim credit when a prisoner is released, when death sentences are commuted, or when a government changes its laws and practices. However, year on year, the work of Amnesty and its protests, pressure on government bodies and support to victims of torture and abuse helps to secure their freedom and save lives.

The Student Network for Amnesty comprises of 100s of groups across the country in almost every university.
