You can see originals of this type of bracelet in several archaeological collection across the world, including the National Museum of Scotland. This arm ring would have originally weighed a Viking Ounce (around 25g), in silver, and was worn as a type of portable currency. Similar arm ring made from lead alloys, found in York, suggest that these forms of payment were also being forged.

Jim recently made a replica of the belt set found in Cumwhitton. After carving the master in bone, Jim made a mould and cast it in brass. Once cast and cleaned up he then proceeded to coat it with tin. On this piece you can see the familiar ring and dot motif used to decorate the plates, which have been rivetted together using brass domes.
When you can’t decide which weapon to take with you… just take them all.
We now have a living history category on our website for people interested in developing their Viking kit or just looking for unique items, handmade by Jim. From bone pins to arrowheads, Antler combes to tinned spoons we have a growing collection of items for your perusal.
If you are looking for something more particular in our Living History Collection, please email us and we can look into making a reproduction for you especially.
Different punched designs have been found across the Viking World. While some remain quite simple, some punches have more complex shapes. Jim has created a variety of punches to help with matching the patterns found on flattened arm rings from several Viking hoards.
Our Sleipnir, Odin's steed bracelet is an original design carved in the Ringerike Style that's inspired by Viking age artefacts.

Here is an image of Queen Gunnhild from the Follow the Vikings Roadshow’s performance at Waterford earlier this year wearing a collection of our gold plated Hiddennsee pendants. The small discs that this bracelet is made up of have been designed with a knotwork motif in a Viking style. While this bracelet has been constructed using modern methods it is a great way to celebrate Viking designs in a contemporary context.

Jim made this replica of a pin from the Gaulcross hoard for the Lochgilphead Pictish Festival last weekend.. This silver cloak pin is a replica of a Pictish find known as a hand-pin.
A young Pictish nobleman surveys his kingdom at the Lochgilphead Pictish festival. It is believed that Pictish neckchains were a sign of status. How much do you think they weighed?
We had a great time at Lochgilphead Celtic & Pictish Festival today. This silver cloak pin is a replica of a Pictish find known as a hand-pin.
In this short video Jim recreates one of the silver arm rings found at Birka, Sweden. This is a commission piece and it was great fun to make. :)

The battles at the Heysham Viking Festival were spectacular! It was great to see all the dedicated re-enactors putting on such a fantastic show. Tag yourself if we’ve captured you in our photographs of the viking settlement, final battle and awards ceremony!

Superb company, founded by an archaeologist who brings genuine knowledge and love of period to all their products - brilliant !
Saw the jewellery at The Gathering in Dunoon with my partner Jim he instantly loved the chains with the hammer pendant, that he drove out the week after to get one looks amazing thank you so much hope we see you at Thunder In The Glens In August
Love your shop! Discovered the shop through finding an Ekitorp Man pendant a while back and instantly fell in love with it. Recently given that to someone and decided to purchase a new pendant for myself. Went with the Lunular for myself and a Troll Cross for my mother and both are just so beautiful! Every item is wonderfully crafted, and delivery was so speedy.
I always recommend the shop, even to those not familiar with Norse/Viking imagery. Wonderful shop!
